 I was 17.

87 tourney.. LSU game- running up and down the street screaming like an idiot.. UNLV- other than the Natty, the favorite game in my lifetime.. Bobby beat Tark at his own game.

 3/30/87- Natty wore me out- so much back and forth-- Smart's shot goes down.. my friend and I just literally sitting on the floor, mouths open, not sure what we just saw!! Just watched a clip with Fish making the call- brought chills and slight tear to my middle aged eye. Hope we get back there!

I was just shy of my 3rd birthday, so not much. However, the National Championship game is the first game I can recall ever seeing! I just remember watching it with my dad in a hotel room and he was freaking out when Smart hit THE Shot!

I was 14. On spring break for the LSU game. Thought we were done. Remember everyone saying IU had to keep it in the 60s to have a chance against UNLV, lol. Probably one of my all time favorite games. Alford leading the break and pulling for three at the top of the key. Nervous wreck for the championship. Wanted Alford to shoot the last shot. NO NO YES Keith Smart!!

March 30 also was a pretty big day in 1940 and 1981. We hung three banners on this day!

I was alive for -- and watched -- all three as they happened. But it's really interesting to go back and watch the '76 and '81 games now -- to see how much of a premium there was on getting the ball inside and getting really good shots. All buckets were worth 2 points, so there was really no reason to shoot from more than 15-16 feet out.

I have the 87 tournament run on DVD now. JMV on his radio show was looking for the Joe hillman interview after they won it today. After I got home I recorded it on my tv with my phone and sent it to him via twitter. He played it on air and gave me a shout out. Made my day

What a memory...!

I was 15 and my HS golf season had just started so I missed a few of the games, namely Auburn, Duke, and LSU.

i have 5 of the 6 games on DVD that I am just starting to watch with my youngest son. I told him about the Auburn game and how we were getting our ***** kicked and a fight almost broke out, so he def wanted to watch that one.

Watching these '87 games with him has been a great way to create another lifelong Hoosier fan!

And I remember a great quote from Ricky Callaway, post title game, declaring how he was going to "Go find Keith and give him the biggest kiss he's ever had!"

Followed by "Hi mom!  It's me, Rick!"

and then there was Hillman, high-octave voice screaming "...and then BUCKET!"

Love those memories.  It's been way too long, guys.

I was on campus in 87 when Knight turned the tables and ran with the UNLV Runnin' Rebels in the National Semi-final and we beat them at their own game. Alford was unconscious from everywhere on the court. And what a night on campus for the championship with Syracuse when Smart's shot went through the net there was a roar all over campus and Bloomington. And we rushed to Showalter fountain and took part in the biggest IU party ever! And regardless of what you have heard --I was in the fountain --but the Rebel does NOT have the missing fish from the fountain!

Watched the '87 game with a FEW beers, then RAN LIKE HELL to Showalter Fountain for the party. Awesome memory from my Sr. yr in B-town. Sold K.S. a Schlitz 40 a few days later at my Big Red job ( he was super nice)........again, awesome.

That's awesome rebel that you were on campus and got to be a part of that.  We had a few moments in my time between 90-94 where we rushed Showalter, but never to celebrate a title. '92 was close....

Dammit you guys inspired me.

got out the bootleg 87 title game DVD and popped it in. My 3rd grader has a friend over and they are glued to it.

afterwards I might show them the REAL title game vs UNLV!

I was 23 and fresh out of school. Road tripped to NOLA. Greatest. Weekend. Ever.

I had so much brain damage after that bender, large sections of my brain were closed to future function. Totally worth it.
