Michigan scored about 16-20 points off our turnovers. They also scored another handful of second chance points. Troy made good and bad Troy plays in the half court offense.

Most of those turnovers occurred during our half court game if I remember correctly.

Forgive me for blowing off steam here.

It sucks because as Wayne said the team spills it out there. Next time, we are going home. Yogi didn't play like an All American. Gotta have our AA lead the way if we are gonna do anything...

yes! Agree. Full circle. Hoping for the best Hoosiers next week. We CAN make noise. But WILL we? That's the question. History says no. That's been the argument. Let's change history.

Not all, I know Troy got a defensive rebound and started dribbling before he turned and it went off Max's foot.  They hit a 3 after inbounding.  Juwan made a pass in the 1-3-1 to the right sideline without looking that ended up with a layup.  OG's last TO on our last offensive play that lead to a 3.

yep. Yep. Yep. Those were critical plays.

The losses are such head scratchers. We really battled in all of our losses other the second half against the #1 team in the country. Not speaking to ore conference when we were a shell of ourself and wounded.

You would think we'd have enough to get past Michigan but they were desperate. Gotta give them credit.

Do hope the good Hoosiers show up. What a special thing it will be if they can get to that second weekend. Anything can happen from there. Two games at a time

need to play to our identity and keep walk ons on the pine. We went away from the 3 today. Needed to guard post better, and find more open looks from 3. Too many guys left unguarded under the rim. What was that?

Well if we would have give up the 2 rather than the 3 at the end of the game...

What does Crean need to get to that level?  Crean has out recruited Izzo over the last 5 years without the results Izzo gets in the postseason.  Is Crean going to wake up tomorrow and be a great tourney coach?

Not to be picky but in last 5 years MSU was above IU twice in recruiting ratings and IU was above MSU three times (including the Bowel Movement year). The year, the 6th, MSU is above IU.

speaking about the MSU/IU thing- Yes, IU has gone through their worst period from 1997-Now. So, for the worst 20 yrs of the program we still have- 1 Championship game, 2 Sweet16s, 3 Conference titles. Not great by any stretch, but still its something considering it is the worst stretch in our history. Meanwhile, MSU has had their best 20 years in the same time. MSU was nothing before Izzo. You know how many B1G titles they have ever? 13. IU has 22. Think about that for a minute. IU was relevant in the 40s 50s 70s 80s 90s 2000s. MSU has been nationally relevant since 2000. Right now, yes MSU is better year in year out, but MSU is new to success. People who know basketball, who work in basketball, give IU as much respect as anyone because they know IU basketball is an institution, not a fad. It;s like saying Oregon football deserves more respect than Notre Dame football because the Ducks have been good for the last 10-15 yrs. Forgetting the previous 75 years is myopic and very "millennial" lol

Izzo just a better coach than Crean. Our program still more respected. Crean has more tools, just not getting it done to an equal level. And that's ok, I suppose. Izzo is fantastic. Just wish we had an Izzo type. Keep hoping Crean grows into it.

I do not think Crean has more tools but agree Izzo is better.
Would say Izzo is better than nearly every coach there is.

michigan st had jud heathcote before Izzo and player named magic Johnson who won a title and played in the most televised game college basketball history so saying they were nothing before Izzo might be a little off

From the 2012 recruits IU is way ahead in recruiting, more 5* comparable 4* and... number of players.  I have the spreadsheets I made at the end of last season somewhere.  I'll look again to get the exact numbers.

love this. We could wish.

Does not make that much of a difference. I just took a look at the yearly Scout team rankings.
Maybe Crean has a bit of a cumulative difference but it is not like it is a IU-PSU difference etc.
Izzo is one of best in country my point is just that some, not saying you, imply that Izzo does it with no talent,
He has recruited plenty.

I agree Izzo is one of the best.  I wasn't trying to imply that he does it Bo Ryan style at all.  Crean has had every opportunity; facilities, fanbase, recruiting hotbed and budget, talent, etc.  I feel like Izzo molds his players to his attitude and style of play,  Crean does to an extent as well but that is not to the level Izzo does.

Yeahhh, there's not gonna be a difference between a 3 and 4 but okay. Be mad about it. Eat your hearts out.

This team is going a long way. This loss will be a distant memory

Actually there is. Now we potentially play the 1 in the Sweet 16. Other option is play them in the Elite 8 and potentially place ourselves in a better spot geographically.
