TOM CREAN FIRED

Recommended Posts

I'm not ignoring it. But the game is played on the court. Not in our minds with all of our IU insecurities

Agree, basketball is played on the court.  As Fleek posted, history has shown Crean teams tend to go out earlier than their seed would suggest.  I'm hopeful this team can break trends for both IU and Crean; however, I won't just ignore history and statistics.

Fan base is snake bitten. Expecting a win every game is sooo far away. It should be like that for sure.

It just isn't. Is that really Tom Crean's fault? No. No it isn't.

Again, just wait and see. If IU bows out early, protest all you'd like. I still wouldn't agree. But at least wait.

Remember when everyone wanted to have the referendum after game #4? Regular season turned out fairly okay I'd say...

Our fans would be supremely confident, proud, and positive if we had the history and faith to fall back on.

We haven't been given that affordability. Our fanbase in general is pretty realistic.

It would be nice to have your best player out in the middle of the B1G season and be on a losing streak but KNOW your coach will have the team playing its best ball in March.

There's good reason to believe in Tom Crean. He is a good coach, not a great one yet because that isn't achieved without national titles right? Or is that just what we tell ourselves.

Maybe this just isn't a great program in today's day and age and we are all really fools for expecting so much. Here we are, almost 20 years from the firing. Who'd have thought we'd still be cursed

a good coach? Sure. A good coach who has a history of performing poorly in the post season? Sure.

This argument about 20 years is so tired. Such a silly excuse. Everyone views us as a blueblood except ourselves.

How do you expect this though? Izzo has built a program over time... That just isn't fair to this regime. The last five years have been consistent with Izzo levels, minus going to a Final Four. He has the benefit of having a truly great player. That kind of makes you as a coach

Eh, not really. Everyone recognizes MSU as king of the league.

IU is a historic program. That's the perception. Old time.

What does Crean need to get to that level?  Crean has out recruited Izzo over the last 5 years without the results Izzo gets in the postseason.  Is Crean going to wake up tomorrow and be a great tourney coach?

Izzo just a better coach than Crean. Our program still more respected. Crean has more tools, just not getting it done to an equal level. And that's ok, I suppose. Izzo is fantastic. Just wish we had an Izzo type. Keep hoping Crean grows into it.

Thinking back to the game.... How have we not implemented a half court offense?

It looks like we have a play... But we never seem to get any good looks from it. Does Crean just have them practice transition basketball all the time?

If I'm playing Indiana next week, I'm slowing the game down as slow as possible with dozens of ball screens.

So frustrating to watch our boys get lost in the switch on screens. Michigan got at least 10 points off our defensive errors.

Michigan scored about 16-20 points off our turnovers.  They also scored another handful of second chance points.  Troy made good and bad Troy plays in the half court offense.
