HoosierAloha Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 I know that's why I said these numbers will change but since all B1G teams rpi are around the same area do u really believe they will drop all they way out of the top 100 rpi?Sent from my iPhone using BtownBannersIf anyone can do it Ill can! At the end of the season it will be a decent win. I believe Ill stacked their schedule to make it look like their a better team than they actually are re: RPI. Quote

rebelhoosier848891 Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Thanks for posting the list---Minnesota with a top 5 NCAA RPI is surprising. Little Pitino is NOT dodging competition. As Knight used to say---to become the best you have to play the best. I hope Crean starts scheduling fewer cupcakes except at finals and the holidays---and we get our RPI/SOS up where it should be for a blueblood! HoosierAloha and bnkepner 2 Quote

Hoosierfan31 Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 When are y'all gonna stop complaining about TB shooting 3s? He's got a nice shot..and they're going in. Thought he had a solid game..he showed up in the 2nd half. Now we just need to play 2 halves of basketball. If we would have mimicked the first half the statline would have been beautiful.Sent from my SM-G920V using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

That's great for the NBA but not great for IU getting wins. I just hope he doesn't do the same with Davis but fear he will Str8Hoosiers, hsrtxp, Napleshoosier and 1 other 4 Quote
cappymo14 Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 In the post game presser, CTC mentioned McRoberts without having been asked a question. My take was that he must be getting questions concerning the amount of his playing time and went to defend Zach in a preemptive strike. Anyway, he said that ZM played 12 possessions in the game. We scored on 9 of those and they scored on only 2. Maybe I'm wrong about Zach. Maybe his contributions on defense and hustle are bigger than I thought.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Bobman1 1 Quote

I dont like purdue but they do a good job pounding it inside. Your not going to be able to shoot 50 percent from three each night. You gotta have an inside game.Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk Bruce038 1 Quote

He tends to get beat by his man on defense and seems to try to get rid of the ball as soon as he gets it. Seems scared to shoot the ball Bruce038 1 Quote
cappymo14 Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 It felt like we improved the schedule this year but we arent even close to many of the top teams.I said this in another thread. I feel, to get recruiting exposure, we need to take risks early. If we retain competitive talent next year, we should double and triple down on our non-con. I remember watching a game under RMK several years ago. The announcers were talking about recruiting at IU and Purdue Person Vitale suggested it was made easier for Indiana because the recruits knew that a majority of their games would be on CBS National or ESPN National. He made a direct correlation between the amount of national tv exposure and the number of quality recruits wanting to play on it. It's not without risk as the potential for losing is higher but, even so, I think there's more to be gained from losing to a powerhouse on national television than from a 40 point win on BTN plus over a team that one needs to look up to find out if it's real.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Bruce038 1 Quote

Not critical of his play but, more that there has been no benefit offensively. I feel he is taking minutes from guys who can score better, rebound better and have the confidence to make a move. Tonight was no different, essentially he did nothing. Passed up a WIDE open shot in the corner and was bailed out by an off ball foul. Clearly he lacks confidence to hoist it. bleedhoosier Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 I'd agree that McRoberts is kind of stiffling our offense by his man not having to respect him and sagging off to help on switches and drives. I specifically looked for it yesterday and noticed it many times. Dude has to shoot the ball if he is going to be in the floor. He is literally Hartman all over again.. scared to shoot but does many intangiables. And for his defense, let me start by saying this team just hasn't really shown the guts for defense but I will definitely lump McRoberts in our top 5ish defenders (davis, morgan, OG, Johnson, Newkirk if he turns it on, McRoberts). I'm not seeing his man get by him. He did a great job in Bronstein with Wisky the other night, for example. He seems a hair quicker laterally than Hartman.I guess my thought here is "balances". Crean must see that McRoberts has a statically more positive effect on the game than Green. I personally feel Green needs trial by fire time but he also just came out of Das Boot. May be on a time limit right now. Conversely, I think it's obvious Green has a super short leash with Crean. Reeling in the confidence? That sort of thing happens when the player isn't listening to the coach in practice. Anyway, we need to start giving Green like 5 mins of Newkirk's time. I don't think Newkirk is completely useless but he is definitely frustrating too watch. I would split him and Green and make sure Green understands that he needs to chill on the extra dribbling. Play simple. Sent from my SCH-I545 using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
mdn82 Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Uh, Hartman can shoot. Don't know where the thought came from. He shot 36% from 3 last year while averaging one 3 per game. Doesn't sound like much but isn't the stat of someone in college not able to knock it down.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Napleshoosier 1 Quote
Hovadipo Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Illinois sucks and we played pretty well. First half defense was solid and 2nd half was.....not, but whatever. Someone fire those refs. That was the longest game I think I've ever seen. Otherwise fun game to be at, the fiancée didn't get the last laugh, and I still get goosebumps when U2 starts playing so all is right in the world. Bruce038 Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Gave up 51 points in the second half - to Illinois. That is troublesome. They were 11-4. Hardly a slouch Quote
