Those exact burners have been hinting at racism from the fanbase all season long. Using the words “hick”, making fun of “dales”, saying we won’t accept Shaka Smart as a coaching candidate as he’d be hated from the beginning. It’s offensive. I’m not saying some racism doesn’t exist but it was never a reason people thought Woodson would fail from the beginning. Age, lack of experience, dated systems, etc, etc were concerns. Not race. As far as why Woodson is getting more vitriol than Archie? Woodson offended the majority of the fanbase on Senior night. Created a burner army to fight fans online. Caused more divisiveness than I’ve ever seen from #iubb. Archie sucked. But he tried and understood he failed. Woodson spins his own narrative and they all believe the fanbase is racist and that why they (we) don’t like him. I’m a merit based guy on everything. You win or you lose. You take accountability. These burners have one job and one job only - shill for Mike Woodson. I would not put it past them in the slightest to make up a story about “death threats” to take some heat off Woodson. They’re not good faith actors.

Maybe CMW just misinterpreted a fans concern watching him sit motionless. What he thought was "Coach Woodson you dead.!!" Was really,"Coach Woodson, you dead?"

We have all the evidence we need that the administration is incompetent. They hired Mike Woodson to begin with. Nevermind wu$$y footing around the timing of letting him go. He should never have gotten the job. Rank incompetence

I understand discussing death threats if they are truly being made (although, let's face it, they aren't legitimate threats). But exactly what is there to discuss about the booing? Can't force fans to respect you....gotta earn it. They are going to continue to boo bad coaching.

This site and particularly this thread HAS been my IU basketball the past season and a half... hell of a lot more fun and less stressful then the garbage product being passed off as IU basketball on the court... Thx people! oh yeah... FIRE GRANDPA JUSTFORMEN!!

If Woody doesn't like the booing, just announce that you are going to retire at the end of the season. If you want to be really classy, just say I really wanted to restore the program to greatness and I feel bad that I wasn't able to get that done. I'd say the booing stops and the team and the fans might actually rally behind him!

So our $4 million coach went crying to the AD about the fans booing? What are we 8 now? I call BS. A big pile of BS. If he has received death threats, that is a police matter. Trace the threats and arrest the SOBs.

Yeah, count me in the highly skeptical camp. It goes without saying death threats are wrong. They are also, in the world of sports, very much the stuff of urban legends… which the burner network is perfect to spread. When TJD got that awful letter from a fan, we actually saw it didn’t we? Wouldn’t be hard to produce evidence, which hopefully does not exist. In any case, this is par for the course with the competing narratives out there about Woody and a 5th year, end of this year, mid year etc. The battle of the narratives continue. It sounds conspiratorial but is just matter of fact - many of these accounts are in group chats with each other and whether they view it as coordinated or not, the end result is just two self reinforcing echo chambers.

Why does someone dropping a few nuggets of info that make other people happy and/or engage with the topic bother you? There are other threads to hang out in. Posts like this serve no purpose than to belittle folks who enjoy the information and a person in @Chris007 who isn’t under any obligation to share. He does it out of kindness for those of us not connected to Bloomington at all or the program.

At this point, does anyone care about IU basketball enough to send death threats? i could definitely see it 20 years ago but now.. I'm kind of skeptical. If he is getting death threats, that's unacceptable. It's just a game.
