  1. I so disagree! And I am all in on TJD staying at IU, both selfishly and from a look at his professional development. When a young person gets a chance to receive independent mentoring from the absolute best in the world at their chosen field, it is not something to be turned down! If Trayce and his dad were doctors, musicians, or any other profession, we wouldn't think twice about the value of him getting feedback from the pinnacle of his future profession. This is largely the same in my opinion.

  3. The only reason to argue against a kid going through this this process is because your desire for them to stay at IU longer and make our team better is outweighing your ability to let the kid choose what is best for them. It's absurd. It's absolutely absurd to argue against a kid taking advantage of this opportunity that has aspirations of playing at the next level. Having your weaknesses pointed out? Yeah, that's kind of exactly what they want to get feedback on and have the opportunity to prove they can work to get better at those things. Not on the radar for the first round there's no reason to go? That's exactly WHY you go! Find out what you should do to get on the radar! I'm not sure "absurd" even covers some of these arguments.

  9. My coaching prowess leads THE Ohio State University to dropping a home game to the dreaded paternos. Any record on if the 5 loud screaming fans traveled with PSU to my arena? If so, with my coaching powers, I’ll ask that security not allow those turds at our next matchup. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners

  18. I feel that the NBA feedback should be more about where a player falls with regard to potential and fit in the NBA, and less about their actual game. I mean, I kinda agree with Joe in the sense that the players know what they need to work on and the coaches/trainers they have around them can tell them all the need to know. NOW I wouldn't say that a player should just google it lol However, I do believe it is useful for players like TJD to figure out what the NBA sees as his potential for the draft and fit within the NBA. They could tell him something like....we feel you need one more year to work on your game in college and if everything goes right you can be a first round pick next year. We see you as a role player in the NBA as you can rebound, have length, etc. Go work on a jump shot and you can be that player. Same for players who are on the fringe of being drafted this year. Heck, it could be useful for a junior who won't get drafted, but the NBA says look there are a few teams who will give you a chance if you come out and don't get drafted. They are interested in you as an undrafted rookie. I find the whole process necessary for players who are on the fringe of being drafted or have NBA potential. For guys like Al Durham, I honestly feel it is pointless. There have been those inside NBA organizations who have said the same thing.

  21. I remember in the days leading to that game, Vitale was screaming his head off that they should reseed before the Final Four -- because you had Oklahoma (a No. 2) and Indiana (a No. 5) on one side and two No. 1s (Kansas and Maryland) on the other. ... I thought it was very disrespectful to Oklahoma and IU -- they did what they had to do to get there and for us, that included knocking out the No. 1 overall seed (Duke). Had the other two No. 1s (the Devils and Cincy) done what they were supposed to do, it's not even an argument. And that's the way the tournament had been run for years. Was just a crazy rant from the appropriately named Dick.

    A Transfer Coming?

This is nutty. Phinisee, Lander and Durham are going to get the lions share of minutes and Leal, Galloway and franklin will back them up. If those backups end up lighting the world on fire we might see some 3 guard lineups to get them more run and balloon that 80 minutes to 120. Al is going to be a huge part of the team and suggesting he should leave is idiocy Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

    A Transfer Coming?

The only player that is coming in next year, potentially, that is as good or better currently than Al is Lander. We were thin at guard and not good at that position either. Our other freshmen are not going to fix that right away, your giving them way to much credit/expectations. We need Al to come back and improve his 3 point shot to 40% and find ways to get open for kick outs from Lander. There is nobody else that is likely to be at 40% next year - he is our best shooter and we suck at shooting Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

    A Transfer Coming?

When you say a player has peaked at the age of 20-22 years old, it sort of discounts your argument. If we have 4 or five guards better than Al, then I would say Archie is taking this program in the right direction.

  28. It is always amusing to read postings by so-called IU fans trashing IU players. Durham is the kind of player Bobby Knight would have loved--a less talented player who gives it his all. Durham came here ranked well below most other IU players and he winds up leading the team in 3-point and free throw percentage.

  29. There is no reason for him to do so. TJD knows what he has to work on. If he has any doubt his father can tell him. Besides, getting before NBA scouts may highlight his weaknesses rather than strengths. He should wait until he is actually ready to go pro. OG Anunoby did not enter the draft for feedback after his freshman year even though some projected him as a 1st round draft pick.
