1987 Final 4 vs UNLV on my dad's lap in the recliner while my 3 brothers were laying on the floor and everyone yelling a lot. There is a photo somewhere to verify this. I was a couple months short of 5 years old. Sent from my Pixel 3a XL using Tapatalk

Earliest really clear recollection is from the ‘73 Final Four game against UCLA. Steve Downing gave Bill Walton all he wanted. I was 11. Have a lot of earlier memories than that of the Pacers. Not sure why that is.

I can’t remember a game detail but my school used to do a big sheet each time IU and Purdue played. And you signed who you thought would win. So in kindergarten I picked a side

I am like rcs29. 87 tournament. I had uncles at Purdue at the time. My whole family is a Purdue family on my dads side. My dad, aunt, and two uncles went to Purdue. I remember being with my grandparents watch most every game that year in the tournament. I was hooked and my family was pissed at my grandparents. Edit: Anybody that knows me on here knows my grandparents had season tickets to IU games. Without them I don’t know how I would have ended up. Grandma was diehard PU fan cause of her kids, but grandpa taught us right. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

We beat Michigan in the 1976 NCAA title game to finish unbeaten. I was 7. My mother, an IU alum, shed tears of joy.

First IU memory was the 87 championship game and my parents going nuts - I was 5. I fell in love with indiana basketball in 93 when I went to a game with my dad and saw Cheaney, Graham, Bailey, Henderson etc play. I was hooked Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Mine is probably going to some game in 2004 when I was around 6. I remember being way more interested in the cheerleaders than the game though haha Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Kirk Haston’s buzzer beater against Michigan State in 2001. I called my dad who was at work and remember screaming at the top of my lungs on the phone (probably attributing to my father’s partial deafness) Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

First legitimate memory was at Hoosier Hysteria when AJ Guyton was still. Came up and gave a high five to my brother and his friend. But we also went to a couple of Atheltes in Action games back when that was a thing. I born a Hoosier but 2002 did get me hooked more than anything. Was raised on Knight basketball though. Richard Mandeville!! 6’11” very athletic out of California and a national top of the top recruit. Never got the hang of it - best season at IU was 3.5 ppg, 2.1rpg. Bob Knight never coached him effectively; he was during the Collier, Reed, Miller, Patterson era of Knight at his absolute worst.

America has more than 5x the population of Italy, but yeah why let facts get in the way. We also already have more cases than Italy and a fraction of their deaths, but yeah why let facts get in the way.

Mike Roberts Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Edit: no joke, that is the catalyst for my name that I have had for like 15 years across several boards. He was THE worst basketball player I have ever seen step foot on the court for Indiana including walk-ons. The worst and just funny that he is back on the bench where he spent his entire 4 years as a player

Yes -- I am awaiting game plans for two coaches (Illinois and Indiana...disappointed the Indiana one hasn't posted yet). If I have not received them by tomorrow, you can take one.

I remember the Indiana Senior/Junior All-Star's coming to Memorial Gym in Kokomo back then and Cody was on the senior team and Yogi/Hanner/Patterson were all on the Junior team. My dad and I both came away with similar feelings, that Hanner was an insane athlete but had little to no basketball skills. Pre-game warmups he had the crowd ooing and ahhing with all kinds of highlight dunks, and then come game time I'm not sure he even scored. Cody dominated of course. We held out hope that he could be coached up and still turn into something special, but I think he was simply too much of a project even for 4 years of college.

    Coronavirus and Its Impact

I think another thing that can cause challenges will be hospital staff getting infected. My brother works in a hospital in NOLA and mentioned that one of the largest hospitals down there had staff that been hit hard. My Sister n law works in a hospital here tested positive this week. She now has to sit on the bench until Apr 8th. So far most of her symptoms are very mild and she only got tested because she worked in a hospital. Out of an abundance of caution we are testing medical staff and even if they have very mild symptoms they have to pulled off the work force perhaps when needed most. These front line workers can get infected easily and it will impact recovery of others when hospital staffs get thin. Another close family member who works in a local hospital just sent this “I am ok. Trying to get some rest today before I go back on for 6 straight. 6 on 1 off. 12-16 hours each shift. I am spent!” Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
