Ali Patberg- additional eligibility?
Crimson and Cream and 10 others reacted to ccgeneral for a post in a topic
Good news! https://iuhoosiers.com/news/2019/7/5/womens-basketball-ali-patberg-granted-sixth-year-of-eligibility-from-ncaa.aspx Indiana guard Ali Patberg has been granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA. She will now have two years of eligibility remaining with the women's basketball program. Patberg, an All-Big Ten Second team honoree in 2018-19, will now be eligible to suit up for IU through the 2020-21 season. She led the team in scoring last season with 15.8 points per game and a team-high 4.8 assists per contest to help Indiana to the NCAA Tournament Second Round and a 21-13 overall record. She scored in double figures in 25 games and was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll three times. In addition, Patberg excels in the classroom as she was named a CoSIDA Academic All-District and was named an Academic All-Big Ten honoree last season. The Columbus, Ind. native transferred to IU from Notre Dame in 2017 where she missed her freshman season (2015-16) with an injury and played in 22 games as a sophomore (2016-17). -

To be fair and I am usually the most guilty one for this but how is everyone supposed to know your initial comment on page 3 was more from other topics? I don’t think I was one that jumped in on you on this one, but isn’t at least understandable when you post what you did on page 3 people would question that? I know I have had those PMs over the years and it made me step back to actually look what I posted in the context of where it was actually posted. I don’t think you meant harm, but you came in hot with Creaning out of nowhere. I think that’s why a couple of people quoted you on that. There wasn’t much if any optimism from the beginning. A lot of squinting hoping for at best a backup. Or joking about our international chances versus what Michigan has got. No confirmation of a scholly offer and we jump to Creaning. I think that’s where you got that pushback. I don’t mean to offend anyone. I am just usually the one doing this exact thing and have got more PMs from this type of thing than anything over the years. Hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

If you’re talking about when you started some senseless argument with everyone about Creaning, then sure. Literally saw maybe one person even have a response that remotely resembled support here, and it was to say that CAM wouldn’t be interested if this kid couldn’t contribute. Every single other person said something along the lines of, “WTF is this” or, “No thanks.” It’s really easy to go back and read posts. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

IU Basketball Ticket Sales Issues?
HoosierTrav and one other reacted to 8bucks for a post in a topic
I think one big issue is the competition for the entertainment $ and our entertainment time. My company is currently a corporate sponsor at IU but we met with the Colts recently and for about the same money we could partner with them. We would only choose one entity and if deciding today, we would switch. One of the things we have learned in the evaluation process is just how diverse our interests are now. Some fans may still like IU about the same but many are not going out of their way to get to games or other events I have set up with the program. IU fans have been in this “almost” level for awhile now and still maintain an affinity for IU but have been choosing to use the time they commit to IU games for other entertainment things now. While the Colts are pretty well ahead of the pack on interest level in the state, IU was well ahead of many of the others (think the 500 was 3rd then the Pacers but I could be wrong on the Pacers). That is the case with IU fans having been waiting for a consistent winner. If IU can find a way to build that consistent winner, especially if every 2-4 yrs we make a run , then I think folks will start choosing to go to IU games over some of the other options. So while fans aren’t leaving in droves there has been a steady decline in many sports due to competition for time and money. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Terrible mistake! With a degree he could get a job, making $100k or better. He'd be able to surpass the value of this contract by around his 275th birthday. #stayinchool -
1 pointWondering if anyone else had heard about Ali being granted (or not yet being granted) an additional year of eligibility due to medical waiver? I was talking with a friend whose daughter scrimmages with Ali a lot, he mentioned that he had heard it. Jon Blau commented that he knew she'd applied for it but may not hear anything until her senior year, but then another person commented that it had been granted? She missed her freshman year, played very sparingly her sophomore year. iuhoosiers.com has her listed as RS Junior.

IU Basketball Ticket Sales Issues?
Alford Bailey reacted to Aaron for a post in a topic
I think IU is finally gonna get a wake up call this year and are about to get hit in the pocket with a lot of non ticket renewals and individual tickets available every game much like in 08-10 when Crean rebuilt. This is not insider knowledge but I was one who did not renew (It had nothing to do with performance but a job add that keeps me busy at nights and weekends at times) and got a call from IU just now about why I did not renew? I asked the woman on the phone if a lot of people did not renew and she stated she cannot disclose that but they are trying to get as many renewals as possible. This tells me a ton of people of dropped and IU is about to get hit in the pocket in athletic revenue which hopefully is the kick in the butt IU needs to get it together. -
1 pointWhy this obsession with a former IU player? Many are not qualified to do what some of you want. If you want recruiting, who has the pedigree of all the former IU players mentioned to bring in top 50 guys? Many kids nowadays will point to Romeo over guys like Guyton, Jeffries, etc. as former IU players they know. If you say they know the state, that may be true, but we’ve had zero issue recruiting our own state. As far as player development, which former IU player has any sort of pedigree developing players and getting the maximum out of them? I think some IU fans have this disillusioned belief that former IU players coming back will somehow magically turn our program around, even when they don’t have the pedigree. Give me a guy that has out of state connections that is an ace recruiter, or someone that has a history of developing players. We don’t need a former IU player and it’s likely we will not go that route.

1 pointI wouldn't mind either of these, but Moye is already working with players on skills development. The guy absolutely loves IU too. Seems like he would be a great fit.

This kid can play anywhere in the defensive backfield. He fits well with what coaches want on this team versatile DBs. Will play safety most of the time but offers the ability to go cover a slot or even rush fill. Physical. Reads QB eyes very well. High points/attacks ball in the air. Comes up on runs and fills tremendously fast. Great athlete.
