We're 5 games into the season; Lagow is not the answer at QB and I'm not sure we have an answer on the squad.   Yes, he had 2 TD's, but that's not the sole measure of a successful QB and IMO his overall level of play just doesn't cut it in the B1G.  And FWIW, I'm not all that hyped on our play calling.

Could not disagree with you more on your first point.   Play calling today was atrocious, and their DB's were far faster than our receivers.  Lagow didn't have open guys.   He has an NFL arm, and he's just fine for what Indiana needs.   He is by far the best we have.  Play calling limited him today....we played that game not to lose it.  Maybe we had no choice against that team, but I think he's just fine.

Well it could have been a lot worse! OSU is a very good team and maybe a championship team. We are improving and doing very well...look out the rest of the schedule cause we are a team to be reckoned with!!

It was also extremely windy. I felt like Wilson played it conservative hoping to have a chance in the fourth quarter again. This time a few plays both ways and we have a chance towards the end of the game. I'm not happy but not upset more of a "that's about what I expected."

I'm mad. I'm so mad by the play calling. I just cooled off and it took me forever so I didn't cuss up a storm. Yeah we gave up 38pts. But overall defense was solid. My friends came over and watched and they were stunned. Had no idea why we ran basically 20 straight times. The one time we go deep 50yd reception. Great job D you did your part. Kevin Wilson step it up. I usually don't call him out but my gosh that was freaking awful. I think a 12yr old travel team coach could have called better plays.

1) Buckeyes ran the ball 50 times. Somewhere Woody Hayes is smiling.

2) Wilson had a conservative game plan. We score after the INT and it's a one score game in the 4th with our D playing well. Almost worked.

3) That is the best defense we will face all season. By far. Our O will be fine.

4) Our D is gonna be reallly good next year. And they ain't too shabby right now!

Onward gentlemen, this team is capable of some good things.

Go Hoosiers!

Haha, right.

I didn't say a word about him until another poster did.  I said 'offense' meaning as a whole.  Offensive line needs to do better, play calling was awful, too many stupid penalties.

I've been hard on Lagow, but I've given him credit as well.

Odd timing, thoughts all. You appeared on the board last week when the team was struggling and then disappear when they ended strong. Ditto for basketball in the past. It's some peoples mo, that's all.

For a guy who is supposed to be a great offensive mind seems like play calling leaves a lot to be desired at times

I did not understand why Indiana kept trying to run the ball outside, I know that this is a captain obvious thing to say but Ohio state is too fast on defense to try to run the ball on them outside. The play calling was puzzling to me, I hope that he makes those calls against my team on Saturday...lol

Agreed. I'd understand trying it once or twice to try and surprise them. But not all game

I gave credit last week, I've given credit to basketball too even if one season will do nothing to change my opinions.  Don't assume motives just because I may not be actively posting.

Part of the reason is there seems to be more posters that don't want anyone to have a critical eye, that just want roses and rainbows and I'm not wired that way.  If someone is critical they're "haters" or accused of not being true fans.  Not pointing anyone out so don't take my comment that way.

I may point out things that need work, but I give credit too.

I get it and we've disagreed on here often even though I had similar views. I'm not critiquing your views rather the timing. It appears to me that you and others thrive on situations when IU struggles while giving a "good game" when IU excels. I get that you're wired that way and I pointed it out. It wouldn't be so obvious if you were around a little more when things were going well. I respect you as a poster as you've been around since the beginning but it won't stop me from pointing it out.

I didn't get to watch much of the game but it seems like we had the right formula to win the game, just a few things didn't go out way:

- Have to score a TD on that first drive after the fumble. Have to score a TD off of the INT in the fourth. Field position like that is a gift.
- The dropped INT in the end zone which led to OSU's first FG.
- The Lagow fumble which I thought was an incomplete pass.
- The kickoff return after the TD with less than two minutes.

For us to beat a team as talented as OSU we need a perfect storm. Plays like those above have to go our way. I am not disappointed by our loss, I don't think we embraced ourselves. This type of game will make us better.
