I’m not getting what you’re saying here about separating football from the universities?

I don’t see how on earth that could ever be accomplished. We already have the NFL so why would there need to be another league?

just wondering, maybe I’m missing something but also don’t most football players need to get some type of degree seeing how most of them are not gonna make it into the NFL?

UK has already started this process. They converted their athletic department into an LLC. That's step 1 in the separation of university and sports.

I think UNC is looking at doing that, as well. Other schools have created LLCs but haven't gone as far as UK.

I agree with others that we'll eventually have football programs and leagues which are related to universities but are otherwise not part of the universities. They'll probably carry the universities names and ultimately be owned by the universities but operate as independent entities.

"SEC is so good"

Three consecutive plays:  Manning interception, Chambliss interception, Manning pass dropped that would have been a walk in touchdown

That's just elite defenses making elite offenses look bad. OK? Even the dropped pass. I know this because everything SEC is elite. ESPN tells us so.

Yeah I was under the impression that recruit ranking fell out by this time but yeah this is a head scratcher. Unless they factor in injuries somehow

Its On3. So I'm like 99% sure they always weigh high school recruiting rankings pretty high. Josh Pate is just a mouth piece for them and he never shuts up about high school recruiting rankings. LSU and Texas at 7, 8 cause they spend 50 million. Oklahoma in the top 20. A&M at 22. On field results should matter by week 8, but whatever

Looking at the polls, a bit surprised Tech didn't fall further. They looked awful yesterday. One good win. They haven't really been dominant outside Arizona State. Glad the coaches didn't reward Florida for not playing. Don't care for teams not playing moving up, especially 3 spots

Curious to see how OSU responds without Sayin. Should they get the Jordan Travis/FSU treatment? lol

Somewhat kidding

Will be interesting if they lose two of the next 5 how they will be judged. 9-3 with sayin they would have probably been in. Without saying and being 3-2 in games with their backup I could see them getting left out

I'm gonna question any rating that still has Oregon anywhere that high. Don't they heavily weigh rercruiting rankings? Gonna go with onfield results over stars next to a high school kids name

Went ahead and looked it up. Those rankings take into account recruiting rankings and "other preseason factors". Those rankings are straight trash

More money or just a connection?

It’s not money. Oregon has it in droves. I think being on the West coast is a limiting factor but that’s not a real problem anymore being in the B1G. Cristobal and Kelly both moved on from Oregon in the last 15 years willingly. I believe Lanning is a southern guy originally

Cristobal was unique in that for him Miami was holy grail job.  Plus iirc Correctly his mother was sick and he got to be closer to her.

I’m going to guess they figure it out and maybe drop one. Although their schedule is more difficult on paper, I believe they still have the talent to beat all of them even with a backup QB. Don’t get me wrong I do hope they drop 1-2 but I think that bye was very convenient and will give them plenty of time to scheme around whomever they choose as their starter.

Northwestern and Michigan are definitely the best bets. Nebraska maybe

Wisconsin with a path to the playoffs if they win at Iowa?

I think so. Only losses would be to top 10 teams. @Iowa and Minny at home won't be cakewalks and they deserve consideration if they run the table.
