(2018) PG Darius Garland to Vandy

Recommended Posts

An update and a caution...
I've done some digging in response to some PM's this evening. Basically, DG has made a decision. He's also not telling anyone what that decision is outside of his family. A lot of misinformation is coming out of Brentwood and Nashville which is largely based on old information. Some of that is happening on IU's side, as well.
The thought remains that in the end, home will win. That was stated to me as a guess based on talk around the town- not a fact.
I caution everyone reading "inside information" to question it. You would have to be extremely close to the situation to call this one with anything more than a guess. This type of recruitment is prime for new insiders because they've got a 50/50 shot and not a whole lot to lose.

A new insider is born every recruitment.

Yes it did. Still have no clue and I am not young.

Edit- Lorne Greene played the patriarch. Hoss and Little Joe were 2 of his 3 sons.

The western TV show Bonanza with Lorne Greene. The family were the Cartrights. Their ranch was the Ponderosa. I watch it everyday on INSP.

Rabjohns said on Kent Sterling that Winston Garland had said to him personally that they were looking into announcements on ESPN or utilizing Facebook live feature and streaming it from Scout.com headquarters near Nashville. Encouraging that he isn't announcing at Brentwood where a heavy Vanderbilt presence would be felt?

So 24 hours later, and a roller coaster day of back and forth and nothing has really changed.  No crystal ball picks changed, no set announcements yet. Everyone has their opinions and most think it’s too close to call. We’re just another day closer. We’ll know in the next week.....

Maybe today, maybe tomorrow.

I’m usually a negative person when it comes to these things but I have a feeling that Darius is going to pick IU. When I 1st heard Winston say that Darius has known for weeks where he wants to go and the reports of him wanting to commit during his visit to Bloomington has me thinking it’s us! Let’s go Hoosiers !!!!

I tend to agree with you....what we know as facts (HH, Winston’s quote, Mom’s tears, add in the 2 Rabby visits) would seem to mean IU, hopefully we are right.  I also don’t think it hurts IU if the announcement isn’t at his game.

At the same time if he knew a couple weeks ago it could have been "yeah HH/IU was nice and all but I can tell I want to be closer to my friends/family". Not as though we will have done anything wrong if he doesn't choose us.

Very true--with our crimson colored glasses, it appears that quote is Pro-IU; however, it could easily have been said with the reverse implication.

I'm hoping it will be tomorrow just for my own sake of knowing one way or the other!
