And if education is truly so important to Romeo, it makes sense that UNC isn’t in the top 2. They didn’t get punished for the fake classes but the country knows the truth. That includes recruits and their respective families

One guy said it's down to IU and Vandy.  Great!  That shows me these are two young men not afraid to forge their own path.  I seriously have come to respect both of these guys for the way they have handled all of this.  And dang, somebody was going to be the second option for Romeo.  Are you really more upset to hear it is down to IU and Vandy, instead of IU and Kansas?

Good for Bryce Drew, regardless of the outcome.  He's one of Indiana's own.  He's working on building something.

I'm going to say that I think this is good news.  I'm going to speculate that Romeo and Darius have talked, and Romeo is sympathetic to Darius wanting to let Vandy down gently.  So they're throwing them the attention.  I think Hoosier Hysteria was meaningful for these guys.  It was a beautiful weekend.  The fan base was awesome.  The place was electric.  Truly no disrespect to Vandy, but I'm feeling better about this.

Literally almost word for word what I told Me so Hornsby lol. I should have added the Bryce Drew being awesome tho. Seriously at least IU has the name recognition to do this but Vandy making it longer than UK and Duke for both is crazy. Touche.

Pretty much. I am not surprised Vandy is in the mix for Darius but did think UNC and Kansas had leapfrogged Vandy for Romeo. Not the case.

Has he actually announced his final 3? Otherwise people are speculating. This includes the National guys.

Shittu and Garland I agree with but not Romeo and I still don't. Vandy guys even had an inside joke of Romeo being Darius's bodyguard on the visit lol. I really think Darius is torn and he knows they have gained some traction in the Shittu recruitment along w others being mentioned w him and Darius, so if Vandy makes the cut for Romeo it makes them get even more attention. It does worry me that I have believed they were a package deal unofficially for awhile so of Garland did choose Vandy, Romeo would seriously consider them. Yep relax guys. This doesn’t change a thing. All it means is that education is very important as well to these players. IU is still gonna win out here. Trust the process

Yep. Would Vandy have the guys to make a run to the final four even if Romeo, Darius, and Shitti went there? Probably not. All Romeo has is one year, we are the better spot for that.

To me, if this is even for real, it only makes me feel better about IU landing Romeo. I'm sorry, I just don't see a reason for Romeo to go to Vandy. I was more worried about UNC and KU.

I posted this over in the other thread but I’ll post it here too, it was meant about DG but it goes for Romeo(other than hometown). We are in a good spot guys, think about what being a Hoosier offers.

National exposure is us. Facilities is us. Long term connections is us. Basically everything points to us. That’s why I feel good about our chances, Vandy may be home and there may be ties and tugs there and he has a great relationship with Drew. But if he is going to choose Vandy it would be an emotional decision. The fact that he did not commit soon after the Vandy visit and seems to be taking his time with this points toward it not being an emotional decision. He is going through and weighing all the benefits vs the drawbacks. That’ll lead to IU and that is why I’m still confident with our chances.

Way back in this thread, I said Vanderbilt would be the dark horse. Of course, Louisville was still in the equation at the time. Vanderbilt is a great school and if not for more a basketball decision, I’d be a little weary. But it’s not and IU is gonna reap the benefits

I don't think we know what it means. That's just looking at it from an 'outsider' view b/c we don't know much about what is being told or sold to RL and DG. Romeo is probably going to be in college one year so do you think he is making sure he gets the best institution possible for that one season? Possible but seems kind of silly.

Like I said, more a basketball decision and it’s IU in that case

If Garland pulls the trigger for Vandy this signing period and Romeo waits until this spring, I think a bad sign for IU. Why otherwise wait? If he was to announce this fall and it not be the state school, how uncomfortable would it be for him to play throughout the state his senior season. He is a fan favorite everywhere he goes. Especially to all of the kids. Seems he wouldn't want that on his shoulders. Not that kind of kid to play the role of the one who got away.
