Brass Cannon Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Max for three is a great option to counteract Hammons and Haas. Especially considering CTC loves to play inside out. A GREAT option. Yeah we better see some of that to create some space. We just TB to have a decent game and offer some resistance inside. And hopefully our guards can dominate the perimeter
JaybobHoosier Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I'm curious how much zone we will see. We are not great at it, but may need to so Hammons and Haas don't have a feast down low.

Sounds good but Max is going to be needed under the bucket on both off and def for obvious reasons. ALASKA HOOSIER 1
Popular Post Stuhoo Posted February 19, 2016 Popular Post Posted February 19, 2016 Sounds good but Max is going to be needed under the bucket on both off and def for obvious reasons.Disagree. Max away from the basket on offense takes Hammons/Haas away from the basket with him. Their bigs destroy drivers and cutters by guarding the other team's worst outside shooter and dropping to protect the rim. Last year Hammons had Troy. With our five all able to hit the three ball, who has he got this year? LockdownD, WayneFleekHoosier, BGleas and 5 others 8
BtownBanner6 Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Disagree. Max away from the basket on offense takes Hammons/Haas away from the basket with him. With our five all able to hit the three ball, who has he got this year? Still has Troy, I think any coach in the country would agree that Troy will not beat you from 3. ALASKA HOOSIER 1

He is willing to sacrifice a possible 3 ball, probably even several Max to own the Interior Dept.
HoosierAloha Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I think the easiest path to victory isn't shying away from Hammons but to go right at him. If he's going to park his butt in the paint take it right at him with a perimeter player breaking their man down and then making a pass to a cutting Troy or even to TB. Hammons has been better about staying out of foul trouble but make the refs make the call and make him work. On the other end we need to pack the lane, except Cline (sp?), and make them beat us from outside. I would also pickup full court as they have been known to turn it over, especially on the road, and try to speed the game up. GO HOOSIERS!!! POTFB Bobman1, colonel06 and ALASKA HOOSIER 3
ALASKA HOOSIER Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I agree with the full court press against them. Can you imagine how worn out the Purdue big boys would be? That would mean they would have to be all over the court on offense to help out the guards, not just camping out down low. Plus, the PU guards would be gassed as well. HoosierAloha and Hoosiers219 2

biteoftheapple Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 One question, when has this team used full court pressure? Given the history of coach and team, this feels like a pipe dream, more than reality. HoosierAloha and ALASKA HOOSIER 2
