Ha I didn’t know his dad wasn’t with the team neither now. That’s a real bad look for his kid. It won’t change anything because his kid is good at basketball, but that’s just dumb.

Just wanted to add that when I said I was "down" on him it was in comparison to the other guys we're recruiting hard in that class. Of the Hurt/Watford/TJD/Brooks quartet we seem to be going after he's #4 on my list. Obviously we're not in a position right now to be picky when it comes to high level talent, and it'd be great to land him, but he's just below those other 3 guys on my wish list. That's all

I wouldn't disagree with that.

Good clarification. I agree that we are not in a position to turn down Brooks, based on where we are now. I’m sure Izzo would take him.

Jay Graves roasted Brooks pretty good in this:  http://www.thejaygravesreport.com/keion-brooks-pulls-a-lavar-ball-on-fort-wayne-north-side-just-weeks-before-the-sectionals-selfishness/
This was tweeted response from Brooks:  Check your sources cause you obviously don’t know what you talking about!

Is that how's they doin' things up in the G?!

I'd like to hear the real reason he dip his brothers. It's not a good look from the outside.

It's just his writing style. I understand everything he is saying. It's just some creative license. He even provides a key at the bottom! So he gets it. It's not otherwise terrible writing. I don't normally read him, but it's been pointed out that his insight is usually on point.

Not a good look for Keion. Bailing on teammates? I have to assume his beef is that he's not more of a focal point. Easy to create a narrative here. His star isn't shining as bright as it was. Getting exposed by top talent. And obviously not feeling like he owes his high school team much loyalty. So he bails to a prep school.

I've seen him play twice. He's not a dominant player. As others have noted, his listed height is deceptive. He does not look 4" taller than Romeo. Maybe one inch taller, but overall a smaller human. Last time I saw him, twice he managed a monstrous dunk... After the ref blew the whistle to stop play. Well after the whistle, even. Like running start for an uncontested dunk while he should have handed the ball to the ref. For some reason that's stuck out to me. Concerned with Keion looking good.

Agree with others that IU is not in a position to turn away a kid like Keion.

Fort Wayne insider on radio (Jeff Kinney?) discussed this today.

Called it a "circus show". Said he doesn't have enough info to go out on a limb but said if he was off air with a couple of beers he'd have a lot of stories to tell. Lol

Seems to be some chemistry issues all season long. Paging Boucher again! Spill the beans!

This article suggests it's a problem between Brooks and the head coach.

There had been some reports over the weekend that Brooks Jr. was headed towards a prep school, however, sources tell me that Brooks Jr. and his family haven’t talked to any prep schools at this point and are committed to putting forth the effort to work through these issues with Khaliq and the school.

The News-Sentinel reported that Brooks Jr. was in attendance for school on Monday, and sources also told me that no decision has been made yet as Brooks Jr. and his family prefer to work through these issues.
