We did the mid-possession defensive switch the first possession of the game and left a guy wide-open for a three that he of course made. What more feedback do we need that it doesn't work?

Regardless of what defense we play, we need to take pride in getting stops or we'll be lucky to be somewhere near .500 in Big Ten play.

Fixed that for ya.

Same old story---offense was excellent. Defense was subpar.

Signs of life--Troy is trying to step up---I appreciate that and I do not doubt the effort he brings.  RoJo and TB have good intensity as well.

Yogi is great ---at times.

I have to hope and believe JBJ has another gear.

Unfortunately---watching Purdue play right after IU made it painfully clear how much better they play defense then we do. (But their offense is not nearly as much fun to watch)

10-3 Preseason-------time to move on and see where we go from here.

Troy played very, very well. We fell asleep as a team for 10 minutes of game. During that time, careless turnovers, missed shots, forgotten men on D, all the standards.

The rest of the game was solid. OG looked solid, JMorgan played very hard and smart. Blackmon had another subpar game on D. His man was eating him up. Niego played early again. Priller played LATE.

This comparison is now old as dirt but Troy was looking very oladipo -ish last night carried over from the ND game. Kind of like he can take over a game when he really wants to. I feel like I'm falling off the yogi bandwagon and jumping on Troys.

Hartman finally healthy?? He just looks more in the mix now. Willing to drive, jumping a little better... And a smooth fade lol

I also watched JBJ specifically all game. My goodness this kid isn't even remotely engaged on defense... Unless he feels it may lead to a breakaway dunk. Easily my least favorite player and its not close. His selfishness on offense will cost us games in the bigten. This kid wont be a pro until he decides to play team ball. Daddy spoiled young Jimbo. I thought he worked on his driving all summer? He is literally the same player as last year. He should be living at the line.

Did you know ESPN games are also available for replay on BTN2Go? I did not.

I knew the football games were, I didn't realize it applied to other sports.

A couple of things I liked from last night...

Johnson and Morgan seem to actually take pride on defense. Neither are GREAT defenders at this point, but they seem to care and put their full effort into that side of the ball. Both of them really disrupted several Kennesaw State possessions. It's like they WANTED to defend.

If our Top 3 took that same attitude, I think you'd see a much better defense.

Kennesaw State had their best offensive ratio on the road this season.

It's really, really, really sad. Their offense scored at will the majority of the game and their players looked like rock stars on offense.

We will not win against good teams with no defense.

I have no idea what defensive model they were using the majority of the game. I saw the zone at the beginning and then glimpses of it at times. KS would just drive and score, drive and score. It was pitiful. What the hell is going on????

I think you are mistaken... Basketball is a game that is only played on 1 side of the court and when you need to rest you go to the other side and do that.....

Although Rojo & Morgan are trying to change this process...

Now, you have upset most grade school coaches. They could use tape of this game to show whatyou do not do on defense. Really, this is basic stuff taught at the grade school level in Indiana.

Honestly this is why I have been surprised the last couple of years. Outside of Cody Zeller we have not had any good defenders coming out of this state. Has high school ball in Indiana turned into AAU ball?
