I think most people are on the right track. I don't know, the timing seems odd.

LSU certainly shot out ahead, it seemed, and with his brother in state, the geography made sense - but I don't think he has visited the school so that would be odd to rush it. Personally, doesn't seem like LSU.

Butler I could certainly see and they have been around quite awhile. That would probably be my guess but, again, the timing is interesting unless he is just sure. Eron has always seemed far from sure on things, no offense.

Arizona St. has some momentum but just don't see that and haven't heard anything to suggest different.

IU makes some sense, timing-wise. With a recent 2G commit, and a slew of visitors...idk, I could see it. But if it's going to be IU i'd imagine I'll hear before Sat so i'll keep my ear to the ground.

Anything can happen but I'll certainly be surprised if it's us.  I've just had the feeling for quite some time that both sides were just going through the motions of recruitor and recruitee for the sake of appearance.  But hey, I'm old and cranky what do I know!  :angry:

Oh, absolutely. IU clearly identified other prospects in April and focused on them in July. If it is IU it's going to be because of the long history here.

I suppose it is possible that with the Jones visit coming in a week Gordon realized it was time to make a decision if he wanted a shot at IU. It would be interesting to see the reaction if Gordon committed and Curtis cancelled his visit.

If you're Crean though, and you feel you have a real shot at some players you've prioritized above him, and those players are visiting soon, then there's no way you can accept that commitment before those kids visit. It's just not smart. I'd hope some of the offers he throws out are conditional and they're not all first come first serve.

I think Crean sees something special in Gelon and knowing he had a 6 person class he took a chance on Gelon.  I doubt hes going to treat the remaining 5 spots the same way.

I'm sure of one thing. I don't have a clue what's going on. I'm not even sure when it's good to get a commitment. Or if you want the one and done or the 4 year guy or some mixture of that equation.

I wish for the days of yesteryear when you read about it in the paper... Of course those days are when, I saw banners going up every 5 years ....

Every roster spot should be cherished. Injuries, transfers etc. every single spot should be regarded with extreme precision. Can I say Crean feels this way? Not by the evidence I've accumulated over the past 7 years. April, Priller, Hoetzel. Exhibit A, B, and C. I don't mind a chance at a sharp shooter. But do it after you have the key pieces in places not before. Priller and April were giant recruiting miscues. Priller doesn't have D1 athleticism and I could see that from a 4 minute YouTube video.
