Moore is not going anywhere. He is loved by this staff and they think he has more pro potential than anyone on the team.

I think there will be someone not happy and transfer or we might not use the remaining two if we don't get who we want.

Because something will happen that turns it into three open scholarships. Either we have such astounding success that a player who we haven't contemplated leaving early does so, or because we are worse than anticipated and a player is therein not happy at IU. 

In my purely speculative opinion, there is very, very little risk that we will go into 2019 with only two freshmen.

Moore is a classy kid, is a legit long-armed 6'10", has the best big man handles on the team,  is really quick for his size, and can shoot the ball.

May not be apparent by this November, but by this March and next season? Yessiree.

Yeah  peegs wrote a column where  the staff thinks he has the most pro potential on the team but may not contribute this year because of lack of strength or toughness

For those who know a lot more about RP than me, can tell me how he compares to Yogi as a PG?  Similarities/Differences, what should I expect from RP?  If he doesn't compare to Yogi, who would you compare him too?

Not to keep hijacking the thread, but a lineup of Newkirk, Johnson, Morgan, Moore, and Davis sounds amazing. The length + height in that lineup would be insane.

On another note, even if we do have transfers the Forrester recruitment doesn't make sense to me. We have Race, who is much better, at the same position. We're also recruiting guys in 19' that are much more talented at the same position.

If we take Forrester I'll support him, but I can't pretend I won't be disappointed.

Not Yogi. Not much at all.

The Assembly Call guy compared him to Michael Lewis this morning. That sounds about right to me in terms of his skill set and size, but Lewis was a very fiery personality and RP runs cooler.

Not very similar according to Bozich on POTB. Yogi was a scoring PG compared to Phinisee as a pass-first, floor general type.

Edit: Rob also doesn't appear to be as explosive off the dribble as Yogi was. Or at least not yet anyway.

So basically his ranking is a reflection of his scoring abilities. Which if Archie recruits like we all are hoping we won't even need

Just for fun - from the Lafayette Journal & Courier high school sports guy.

In case you missed it:  McCutcheon senior basketball star Robert Phinisee verbally committed to Indiana University over the weekend. Depending on your side of the fence, it drove you to celebration or brought you to tears. It's evident he'll translate to the next level. 

It's worth giving Phinisee props for how quiet he remained about his plans throughout this process. He did not wake up Saturday and make this decision. He did, however, play out the recruiting process while remaining mostly quiet about the recruiting process. Once a week for maybe two years, I'd be at a sporting event and be asked what I thought Phinisee was going to do. 

Honestly, I never got a read on him. He was very good about doing this whole thing the way a recruit should. 

 

Now as a personal note having watched Phinisee play many games, the writers comments about "how quiet he remained" and "never got a read on him" are just what you'll see on the court.  Expressionless and just goes about business.  The most visible emotion I've ever seen from him in the games I've watched is when he was called for his 5th foul in the championship game against New Albany and he thought he only had 3 fouls at the time.
