Emmitt Holt dismissed from team

Recommended Posts

Are people being serious with this "Perea shouldn't have been in Bloomington" stuff? Like serious? I kind of get the whole the current players shouldn't have been doing stuff with him. I think people aren't even really being the slightest realistic about it, these guys have been through a lot together. But I get it. The whole poisoning the young players comments gets to me too, again I understand where people are coming from, but still think people are trying to speak to his character without really knowing him.

Just saying the "Perea shouldn't have been in Bloomington" or "He shouldn't ever come back to Bloomington" comments are kind of ridiculously outdated in a line of thinking

Really?? Perea's lack of common sense gets him kicked off the team. Ok let's go hang with the dumb*** who got kicked off the team and do the dumb*** things that he did to get kicked off the team. We have some real brainiacs on this team. I don't know what's worse the action or fans trying to rationalize the action. Maybe it wouldn't be a big deal if it had not been happening for how many years now??

Numerous other reliable (milehiiu) and less reliable (Heller on Gold n Black) posters reporting that they have strong sources that this was not Holt's second strike.

Or his third. Or maybe even his fourth.

Shouldn't change anyone's mind on Crean. Might change a few minds about Holt.

If that's true it would mean the staff is has swept more under then rug, like they tried to do with Stan and Troy's first failed drug tests.

If they're sweeping second and third, and possibly fourth, incidents under the rug then it does change my mind on Crean; I think even less of him then I did before.

If this is true....my god what does that say about Crean being totally out of control....Its like the geometry teacher in high school that allows boys to chew up paper, wad it up and throw it at her in class as it splats on the chalkboard next to her head and does NOTHING about it.  Still does NOTHING after they throw her briefcase out the third story window.....and then the following fall a memo is sent out and says she is going to explore other interests....WTF

If it's true it would mean Crean and staff is trying to sweep everything they can under the rug.  How big is that friggin' rug anyway?

If it's true, then there shouldn't be a single person defending Crean.  Well except for the president of the Tom Crean Fan Club, Fred Glass.

Yes you can.  No reason for Yogi to be around Hanner near or on IU's campus.   None.   They can meet in Indy.  At a restaurant in Bloomington.   Anywhere but a place where they might be in a position which puts a player in jeopardy,   Agree with your comments about the freshmen, and it makes me question Yogi's leadership further.   But the players need to be smart about who they're with and where.  It's not like HMP has been a positive influence on.......um...anyone.

I understand where you're coming from. Nothing good ever seems to happen when HMP is around. I would absolutely prefer for the players to stay far away from him, but I just don't think it's a realistic thing to expect from these guys no matter how much sense it makes. If Yogi and Hanner want to hang out at Yogi's place, catch up, whatever, then fine. As long as they aren't doing anything illegal. But driving around Bloomington with alcohol and three underage players in his car? Please stay away Hanner. Our players are a mess, our coach is a mess, the whole dang program is a mess. We don't need any help messing it up even further.

I say it's time for some investigative reporter to start digging and putting together an exposè on the freaking mess that is Hoosier basketball. Leave no stone unturned and no guilty party unnamed. I am sick of this crap.

Vindicate the Innocent and banish the guilty, regardless of how deep the cesspool really is.

Watch Tim Priller come out with a tell all book five years from now. Maybe that's why he stuck around instead of transferring.

Maybe I read the article wrong but I thought it was 5 people IN a car.

Nah, you're right. I went back and double-checked. I don't know how I missed that, up until now I have thought they were outside the store and everyone else was in the car.

Doesn't change minor transport since the car wasn't moving so there's no transport. But, I"m surprised they didn't hit the other minors with constructive possession, I wonder if Holt and Bryant claimed the bottles. I'm not familiar enough with Indiana's version of the law to know if they would have been in the clear had Hanner grabbed the bottles instead of trying to hide them. I mean, it was too late by the time they saw the cops, but it's plausible he could have saved their butts.

Figures.
