It doesn't make any sense to not want him for IU not being his top choice. Plenty of kids every year end up going somewhere that wasn't their first choice. The only thing that matters is him putting forth maximum effort while he's here, if he does come here

Good feeling if Devin Booker didn't go to UK then JBJ would have. So we were a second choice there. But to a better program. Same with ISU. They're better right now. And they bring in transfers yearly.

If our program was still good enough that we could thumb our noses at those who considered us Option #2, then Crean wouldn't have to beg players like Priller and April to come here. 

 

 

I'd be in favor of bringing Max here for two reasons: 1) Another Big Ten team coveted him, which is more than you can say for some of the players Crean has pursued/brought in recently, and 2) It brings some experience to the roster instead of another freshman.

I guess he is waiting to hear the official word that Hoiberg is going to the Bulls. Could he also be waiting to see who the replacement coach will be? It could take Iowa State some time to form a search committee and name a new coach.  Hopefully, it was Hoiberg or nothing for Max.  

 

I would hope his decision, or lack of one, would not prevent us from taking another quality 5th year transfer. You snooze, you lose.
