NoahW35 Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 He is by some services. I don't mean to make this a big deal. I like Smith. I want Smith. I just want a Wilkes or Bamba type to go with. We may lose 2 5 star players and another that is capable of playing like one. That is a lot of talent to replace. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBannersI haven't seen a single website out there that didn't have Smith as a 4*. Could be wrong. Hope we can get a commitment soon after his visit. Would hate to lose out to Stanford Quote
Stuhoo Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 I believe that Smith is a 247 composite ranking of 80. That oughta settle where he is. Quote
Brass Cannon Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Yep he's 76. With 247 giving him the 59th spot I kinda one do an analysis of all the major recruiting sites and see which is most accurate. Quote

8bucks Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 OG was apparently very close to leaving for the NBA this year so I would expect him to go if he's considered a first round pick. I think the class will be 5 and even could see 6 because that is just what Crean usually does. Hopefully we can get a commitment from Smith this weekendWait, OG barely took a look from what I remember. I don't think he was close to leaving at all but would be curious if there is something credible to show me otherwise. MikeRoberts 1 Quote
Bowhunter Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Why are we so confident on getting this guy? Illinois back yard and Stanford connections. I'd be happy with him, just curious to why we would be favored. Quote

I'd be happy with him, just curious to why we would be favored.I don't know about confident but here is the situation. He's pretty much down to IU, Stanford and Nova. Illinois is out. Nova has Brunson who he played w, could be a pull but just landed a similar player so has to sell him creatively. He's no dummy. He's easily most familiar with Indiana as he's been on campus several times and Judson has been working the Ill. scene forever. He's on campus this weekend and IU can certainly sell the need for him. Stanford could "Wow" him on the visit w their program and academics.... Josh, hsrtxp and Class of '66 Old Fart 3 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Wishful thinking but I'd like to get a verbal from him before he leaves Bloomington. We talk about dominoes falling and maybe getting his commit could be a catalyst for 1 or 2 of our other targets. HoosierAloha, Crimson and Cream, ALASKA HOOSIER and 1 other 4 Quote

Maybe a verbal from Waters and then a big who wants Waters as their point in college and then round out the class with a Wilkes. Stuhoo, IUsafety, GloryDays and 5 others 8 Quote
