YOGI--You Stayed! Now Lead Us To Glory!

Recommended Posts

I envision a yogi & bryant pick n roll the way I envisioned a Yogi and Hanner pick n roll for 3 years. Hoping this one works out a little better.

Will say it's a real possibility he bounces to the pros. If that happens, we drop from Top 15 to out of the Top 25 IMO. He is OUR MVP for next season.

Agreed to be great we need Yogi to come back and be an All-American

If yogi, tries to go pro then my outlook for next season will be much diminished. Come on yogi, we have your big man, improve your draft stock!

You have to win to be really appreciated, that's just how sports work. From a team perspective, his sophomore and junior years have been disappointing. If he comes back next year and has a Big Ten POY season and leads IU on a deep run, he'll get a ton of appreciation.

Yogi will go down as the most under appreciated Hoosier in history

I agree completely. I love Yogis heart and think he has improved his shooting incredibly but we remember those that led us to major victories.

Most would be for banners but Cal, Grahamx2, Bailey, Henderson and Reynolds gave us a lot of memories and a FF and they are up there for me.

Really?

I believe he is one of the most over rated of all time right now. Not because he sucks but because the ratings of him, if you will, are that high.

I always think of Beamer, Benz, or Bentley when I see your username, but I think Beamer, Benz, or Buzzkill might be more applicable.

But honestly, c'mon man there's good vibes this off season. Let's see where they take us.

See, this is kinda what I'm talking about.

Saying yogi is a very good player but not an all time great Hoosier qualifies you as a hater or buzzkill

You are mistaken, my friend. It isn't because you aren't on the Yogi bandwagon, but because if someone were to compile all of your posts it would look like Martha the Mop Lady's letter of resignation. Nothing but despair for the current state of the program.

So Yogi is one of the most over-rated players of all time but he is very good and doesn't suck....?

It's the way you constantly berate Yogi's position as a top tier pg in IU history that is irritating.  From you posts, it seems you have an agenda.  Despite not winning a ton of games or taking IU deep in the tourney Yogi has been a great player.  He holds the current record for most consecutive games with a 3PM, has molded his game to team needs (for the most part), and is still developing as a leader.  In another thread we discussed his ability to make clutch shots where he has actually hit several threes to keep IU in the game or to put the game in OT.  He is on pace to set the all time IU assist record.  He is top 10 in made 3s.  He's top 25ish in scoring.  He's done a lot of things well for this team on the court.  The biggest area of concern I have is for him as a leader.  That doesn't take away from the numbers he has put up though.

I win all the time but he's still not Isiah.  :thankyou:

You consistently readjust the bar for Yogi.  First he is one of the most over-rated players of all time compared to his "ratings."  Then readjusting stating he is very good.  Now if he wins he's Isiah?

I don't think Yogi would surpass or even be in the same conversation with Isiah if he were to lead IU to a Final Four next season.  However, I think Yogi has been very good to great at his time at IU, so far.
