No I am not. Born and raised a Hoosier but moved out of state after college. Most of my family are still living there. I live in jay hawk country but very far from a KU person. I live 30 minutes from Lawrence. Why wouldn't a basketball fan go see a game there. Really!

I am not talking down Assembly Hall and the 40 million dollars earmarked are a good sign. I have lived in six states since college and I can't help saying their is a lot to see and do etc. Good lord.

It's all good. Everyone needs to get out and explore a little bit. Done.

Getting out and exploring has nothing to do with it. I've lived in multiple states and have been in states ranging from California to NY. What you said had nothing to do with getting out, especially when you blatantly contradicted yourself. Also putting down Assembly Halls historic value on an IU website probably won't win people over.

I was in favor of a new stadium as long as it would be loud and have improved viewing areas.

Alas we are getting a renovation. The inner bowl isn't changing. So if you sit in a bad seat it will still be a bad seat. The outer shell is getting the renovation. Lobby, concourses, restrooms, etc will get a facelift. the finished product should look nice.

That's the problem, just too many bad seats. I stand by playing n Wildermuth for a season and opening a new Assembly Hall right where the old one sits. Wake up the echos to bring in the future and sell the old Assembly Hall brick by brick. Sorry Notre Dame for the echo reference and I hope you beat the cheaters of Kentucky. It really makes since considering falling debris, terrible bathrooms, etc...

How exactly do you plan on playing in Wildermuth with a grand total of zero seats?

There is a lot of differences but I am not going there discussion wise. I am not interested in being accused or attacked regarding the subject matter. I am sure the AH updates are well planned out and will be great. We will need to wait and enjoy the finished updates once they are completed.

??? Before my time, curious to what the answer is.

The Checkerdome floor was deemed unworthy to play on so IU let them use the AH floor for the finals. ND, Arkansas, Duke & of course UK who won with ol' Joe B. Hall and Jack Givens that had a boatload of points in the final game. I was fortunate to have been there...

Allen Field House has one of the ugliest courts in all of basketball.

The discussion is about facilities. Try following the thread before joining in. Ugly probably not but the big mascot at center court also does not make it the best by any means.

Actually the discussion was about Assembly Hall not AFH or any other place in general. Let's cool it on telling people when they can and can't join in. Thanks.
