What screwed AT was the fact that he was drafted by a terrible Phoenix Cardinal team that had a rookie offensive line that left him punished. It shortened the career of a great, durable college back that held touchdown, game yardage, and carry stats that took decades to break. Forty carries a game was not unusual for him. For those of us around in '87-'88, and who know AT, he is one-of-kind. I wish Coleman well, and hope that if his career ends early, he can find the same contentment AT has.

Oh yeah. I know he's a great guy. Anytime my uncle or dad see him, his first question is always asking how my grandma (their mom) is doing. Class act.

Turns out that Tevin played with a broken sesamoid bone in his right foot the last 7 games of the season. He ran for 1,195 yards in those games.

Mel Kiper picked the first 3 rounds and has TC going #36 to the Jags. It's an Insider article so I won't post the entire thing, but here's a snippet regarding the choice: "No. 36 overall is a spot where I can better justify taking a RB, even for a team that could use help in other positions, simply because I feel like he immediately becomes the best running back on the roster. Given that I think my roster is now in a position to win more football games, I can take a play-right-away player who has shown explosiveness and durability. That's an immediate upgrade, and the opportunity cost isn't too high in Round 2."

Tevin Coleman reminds me of Eric Dickerson.  He's a one-cut guy, runs vertically, has break away speed, and he's about the same size.  Now...that's not a comparison.  It's a reminder.  I'm not saying Tevin Coleman is an NFL hall of famer....but he reminds me of a back who is.  And he has very low miles, compared to some other backs out there.

 

He'd look awfully good in a horse shoe if you ask me.

I don't like the fit here in Indy. Coleman has a lot of skills, but patient running is not one of them, the colts o-line isn't good enough to allow him to play to his full potential imo. I think he can be great on a team like Dallas, he and DeMarco Murray are very similar.

I kind of go the other way.   Trent Richardson was very...um...."patient."   And he was a dismal failure.  The Colts need a guy who just hits the hole, makes one cut, and goes.  Coleman can do that.   I see the Murray comparison, however TC is taller, isn't he?    I think Murray's about 5'11" and Coleman 6'1", but either way, I see the comparison.  I also think Coleman runs a bit more vertically than Murray does.  I also love TC because he's "low mileage."   Wilson didn't ever over-work him, and he's had few carries compared to some other highly rated backs.

Even with Devonta Freeman around I think Coleman comes in with a good chance to get 200 or more carries. He'll hit more home runs than Freeman.
