Remember going into 2014 everyone thought that would be Crean's greatest recruiting class. So we went into that year expecting Blackmon, Goodluck, Pinson, Lyles, Bluiett, Lyle ( not all of them) but players of that ilk. It started wonderfully with James and Rojo and ended with a tremendous fizzle. It's a matter of unfulfilled expectations more than anything, and the shocking downturn in results.

as others have said, we are 1 player away from loving this 2015 class. If we added TBryant or (for instance) if we were lucky enough to have added a Swanigan or Zimmerman, EVERYONE will/would be happy.

2013 class had zero complaints about recruiting from the fans. Zero. People won't complain if we fill our roster needs with quality players (at least complain about recruiting).

maybe Crean can find one of these last minute European BIGs like Kansas and Gonzaga did this year. Tremendous late signings by those clubs. Tremendous!

My point was, it's just a matter of perspective and perception. That's all. Just like the little boy who expects to get an Xbox One for Christmas and gets a yo yo instead. That yo yo is a good gift, but it's a let down to the boy wanting an Xbox.

Just thinking about the expectations and rationale of recruiting. Our hopes as a fanbase were through the roof, we had multiple top 10 classes and 2 years of very solid/great results.

I'd say it was actually off the charts since it got started with Blackmon/Rojo/Lyles commitments. I'm mad as the next guy about recruiting for next year but I guess when I look back, Crean didn't necessarily mess up the class balance. He had Lyles. Vonleh and Fisher really being gone wasn't something we would even care about at this point if Lyles didn't turncoat on us. Then daddy got involved. That is actually one hell of a class. Glad we have some NY ties now so we could snag Holt. This should be good for the future.

Now - once Lyles decommitted and then Blackmon started looking elsewhere, that was uber concerning and Crean hasn't shook the recruiting heat he gets form us since. Blackmon coming back was absolutely huge for us this year.. someone was in his ear.
