(2015) C Thomas Bryant to IU

Recommended Posts

You don't know if he's interested in our tradition of greatness. Maybe he wants to come here now because he thinks CTC (you) will be gone. So he can play for a coach who can use a big and play so flipping D

Lol greatness? You mean when Thomas grew up watching the Mike Davis era? I can tell you 100% he isn't coming here if Crean is gone. It is all about how he is going to be used. Here he gets a chance to develop skills. Not all programs are doing that... Crean is the best player development guy in America. That can be argued, but he's in the conversation.

Who would you put in?

i don't know coach, the other 8 guys you've given a scholarship. Start there. If, in your wonderful recruiting, you noticed they have no passion to play D. Why sign them in the first place? Falls on your shoulders coach, no matter how you want to figure it.

You don't have to grow up following the team to know of it's greatness. History coach. Like you said when they hired you "it's Indiana, it's Indiana" your own words

You have zero idea what has been done to take care of the problems in the program. There are maybe 3 coaches who are more known for running a ship tighter than Crean. Partially why he was hired and identified as such a great fit here.

so he recruits and signs players of questionable character to begin with? Genius. Retroactively making up for his own mistakes. Sure. Letting players fail multiple drug test and still getting starts and heavy PT. Quite the disciplinarian.

I can't even begin to show you or anyone how wrong you are about how coaching at this level works.

You can blame every little thing on him, no matter if it's his doing or not. But that is so incredibly dumb... It makes no sense to do that. You think everyone coming into college is a finished product? He doesn't take finished products. He takes guys that he is going to coach. It takes time to do that. Maybe it doesn't suit your fan needs but you'll just have to enjoy it. Go polish some teeth, or maybe read up on other programs/coaches. This stuff happens. Everywhere

You can't know the character of every kid. You realize how difficult that is? I'd say he's done an AMAZING job of bringing in good people.

If you disagree with that...

And you call me blinded?

That's life the guy in charge coach is the person who ultimately has the control. If he can't handle it then maybe Indiana isn't the place for him, but I think that's already been established

Sorry guys. I thought it was a thoughtful debate. I realize it ended up in the wrong place.

As for Bryant. I love his basketball game and would love to have him. Been saying it for months. He's a beast. Plays so hard. Intense. We'd be lucky to have him. No doubt.
