Hovadipo Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Duke starts to slide and K suddenly needs back surgery. More convenient than a 7/11, but slightly more slimy. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners LIHoosier, WayneFleekHoosier, Class of '66 Old Fart and 1 other 4 Quote

First, I think Stevens is staying in the NBA, so the point is really moot. But, if he came back to college I'm not sure following Coach K is something he'd want to do. Duke itself does seem like an ideal program for Stevens, but what's the benefit in following arguably the greatest college coach of all-time? That just doesn't seem like a Stevens move to me. I could see him following the guy that follows K, but not replacing him directly. While IU brings it's own set of pressures, I think bringing IU back to glory is a better proposition than following K immediately. I could also see him following Roy at UNC, while also a pressure-cooker, following Williams isn't as tough as following K. HoosierAloha, ALASKA HOOSIER and Stuhoo 3 Quote
Josh Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 I've never heard of immediate emergency back surgery. This sounds really fishy. He couldn't use a brace and a cane until the offseason?FIRE HIM! This is embarrassing ALASKA HOOSIER, WayneFleekHoosier and Stuhoo 3 Quote

This is embarrassingThere are times when back surgery is urgent/emergent. If a disc fragment is free floating and lodged against a nerve root it very well may need to be removed before permanent damage is done. I can't imagine Coach K or or other to undergo surgery just to get out of a difficult situation.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Josh 1 Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 No that he needs bring his student back. Lol. He would have never done anything with him in the first place if he wasn't "convinced". Allen needs more time to grow up. He is getting the punishment he deserves. It'll probably end up being a 3 game suspension. No big deal. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote

TheWatShot Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Forgot to post this last night: do you know what was the most impressive part of Minnesota's win over Purdue yesterday? They only had 7 turnovers. OT game and they turn it over just 7 times, in a hostile environment where officials have been too scared to call fouls on the home team. Memo to Crean: turnovers kill. It's so much easier to succeed if you aren't giving up the ball 15 times every game. I wish he'd figure this out, but I know he never will. reconmkd, Napleshoosier, HoosierAloha and 2 others 5 Quote

Stuhoo Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Kensucky posts a 2.4 team GPA for the fall semester. I believe that their walk-ons who are kept around for the specific purpose of raising the team GPA are included in that average. See linky for a stirring discussion by UK fans of why their student athletes don't really need to be students:https://kentucky.forums.rivals.com/threads/anyone-catch-the-team-gpa.221642/ Quote
