KenPom gives UAB a 56% chance to beat Utah Valley and North Texas a 58% chance to beat Wisconsin in the NIT final four.  If both those happen, the final two in the NIT would mean that three of the six teams left playing for a title in the NIT and NCAA tournaments would be from Conference USA.

I’m still officially not that hype even if this is the play. I kinda doubt it is, but if we are legitimately concerned about athletes and defense we could do much better. I like the kid. I root for the kid but if we are trying to be a top 15 type team I don’t think you go to CE to be your starting 2 guard.

Don't want to brag (of course I do or I wouldn't post it), but my WAR calculations said North Texas was more deserving to be an at large in the NCAA tournament than six teams.  Those six teams went 2-6 in the NCAA tourney.
