Iowa loss to eastern Illinois smashed their NET.  Iowa isn’t a bad team they just had a brain fart against a terrible team even if their best player was out.

Iowa has a convincing win against Iowa st who is good.  They have neutral court win  against Clemson and road win at Seton Hall.   People can trash IU for losing to them on the road but that’s not a bad loss for IU

No need to try and reason with the pitchfork mob.

At the end of the day people are entitled to their own opinion on what’s a bad loss or not or if they think a team is a bottom dweller crappy team.   I can only bring it from my point of view of why I disagree or agree.    Eastern Illinois is currently down 20 to Morehead st.    Iowa had a crappy forgettable game against them but for me Iowa is closer to the team that has beaten some quality teams than they are that lost to eastern.    Unfortunately for them they took that loss and had their numbers suffer from it.

If Oats keeps it up you can bet UK will back up the truck for him. Cats can stand having a better coach than them in the SEC.

If I were Oats I would stay at Alabama because he can win there and don't have the pressure he would going to UK

Darn straight. Just the coddled world we live in. "It's okay to lose."

Last time I checked every team loses since 1976

So would this be considered as bad as a loss as ours in Iowa? Wisky getting thumped by a team the was in complete disarray just a few days ago!

From a bracketology side of things neither would be considered bad losses.  Both are Q1 losses for each team.     Conference road games are hard.

Was being a little sarcastic with my post but thanks for the analysis. Always great to hear what you have to say.

they have been rolling lately.   Barnes has something special down there.

Pretty nice to have a Mo Valley player of the year contender as your 4th/5th scoring option.

Could you imagine him on this Sycamores team?   ISU could have been close to a top 25 team.

Schertz is already imposing his style on the conference. Would’ve been nasty with McCauley and Key together. Not sure how long Schertz will be in the Haute at this rate tbh.

Correct. But not every fanbase justifies their losses into apathy and mediocrity.

Some people  can  acknowledge that not all losses are created equal and that’s it.  No big meaning or trying to justify being mediocre just some losses are different then others and if you don’t think other fan bases point out and try to justify bad losses then I’m not sure what to tell you.   Happens all the time to bracketologist when they release a bracket.   Fans are always going to fight for their team justified or not

You are nearly always a voice of analytical reason we the fan base whips itself into a frenzy. Everyone sees things from the perspective that exists inside their head. Nothing wrong with that. But I always look forward to the more balanced view that you often bring.

Losses aren't created equal. But the phrase "no bad losses" is what I don't like. "this loss isn't as bad as others" or "this loss won't hurt the resume too much." It's still a loss. It's still bad. And we lose a lot.

I don't see anyone who is happy with losing and injuries s are not excuses but are reasons for losses.

Say Purdue was without Smith and Furst and Edey was playing at around 70% do you think Purdue wouldn't be worse . Also we injuries doesn't just effect games but it hurts at practice as well. With players out at practice you can't get your team chemistry on the court
