Interesting season: We won the B1G, yet they beat us twice, so they got the No. 1 Midwest seed, while we got shipped out West. I always thought Lou was a little dirty, and I hated that they beat us twice in '89 -- but I have to admit, it was fun a fun team to watch. If you take the names off the uniforms, may have been my all-time favorite college team to watch. One of my favorite RMK stories: after IU beat U of I late the next year a reporter asked him about Kendall Gill, who was then a senior. Knight’s response: “Boy am I glad HE’S gone. It was fun watching him at Warren Central where he was basically unranked on a team with Hurt and Zeke from Arizona. I asked some scouts that were there about him and if he looked that good all the time. Several made the comment that he will be ranked after that weekend.
