WayneFleekHoosier Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Anyone notice how seamless and easy PU inbounded the ball in a very critical time? Alford Bailey 1 Quote

HoosierAloha Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Will Purdue make the NCAA tournament? I think so. Looks like they've finally turned the corner. They still have 5 B1G road games @MSU, @OSU, and @IU will be tough. It'll be interesting to see how they play against Minny pressuring them and bigs that should be able to guard their bigs. They're playing well right now but they have a ton of work to do. Quote
AKHoosier Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Purdue's playing well but their schedule is kind of the opposite of ours. Easier to start, ends pretty tough. They'll level out and finish in the 5-8 range, squarely on the bubble. I think they miss the tournament because of those early season losses. Quote
Alford Bailey Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Glad we don't go to Penn St. Chambers has them pretty competitive. Quote
HoosierAloha Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Graham scores the first 7, second half points for UMD and Turgeon yanks him. He also made a few hustle plays. Quote
HoosierAloha Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 MD has really struggled since their trip to Btown. - Btown beatdown - Lucky to beat NW at home - Beatdown by the Buckeye$ - Struggling at home against PSU Quote
KingPG21 Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Do you are care to elaborate? It isn't accurate. There are examples of teams that suck defensively, any team coached by Mike D'Antoni, really the Cavs aren't all that good defensively outside of of LBJ now that Varejo is out. But defense wins out at a higher rate in the NBA . Also, it is worth noting that there are certain big rules in the NBA that strongly encourage defense, the verticality rule, and defensive three second call. Whereas neither of these exist, or in the case of verticality are apparent. Also, the talent difference between the offensive talent in the NBA and NCAA is pretty extreme. You aren't really comparing similar levels. The players in the NBA are the best in the world at what they do, there are so many college players that will never sniff the NBA. For examples of defense being big in the NBA look at teams like the Pacers, Heat, Bulls, Grizzlies, and Spurs in recent years as examples of teams that pride themselves on defense that have dominated the league Quote

CR3AMnCR1MS0N Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 If Purdue beats OSU tonight, they could come into Bloomington on a 7 game winning streak. Their next three games are Nebraska, Minnesota and Rutgers. Or they could be Purdue and lose all three, then we beat them 86-50 Hutch89 and LIHoosier 2 Quote

We won four straight with two home wins over ranked teams, then lost 3 out of 4 with the three losses being road games. Purdue faces the same sort of stretch now. We'll see if they're really that great. HoosierAloha 1 Quote
