A little Terrence Shannon Jr. legal process for y'all:

Apparently the university knew there was an investigation since September. They did not suspend him, which to me makes perfect sense. If they suspended him merely for an allegation they could get a flurry of unsupported allegations of all stripes on many players, including anonymous allegations. Additionally, if law enforcement was investigating, they were not sharing investigative details or status updates with the university.  So how did they know? It is reasonable to speculate that people associated with the program were interviewed and immediately notified the university when law enforcement contacted them.

Now that Shannon Jr. got charged? They suspended immediately and indefinitely. Illinois has a good track record on this front: With both Kendrick Nunn and Jaylen Tate, Illinois suspended upon domestic violence charges being filed, and dismissed immediately upon guilty pleas for domestic violence. That was 7.5 years ago, but that has been their standard.

The charges? The standard for charging is 'probable cause' that a rape was committed by Shannon Jr.  Now that he's been charged it is 'innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt' of rape.

The timeline? Absent unusual circumstances that lead to the charges being dropped, at least through the spring before there is a trial.

He is definitely 1A for them but they won’t suck.  Tough coach.  Pretty darn good roster still.  They will be fighting for 2-6 place imo.  But a huge loss for them.

Well in the Big Ten they'll be middle of the pack. The Big Ten will guarantee a slew of teams that win about 10 games.

Anybody here think that the Illini might be better off without Shannon?

No way.    He is basically playing at an all American level.    No wing gets downhill like he does.    He also acted as their pg sometimes and they don’t have a real pg.   massive loss for them

Some think iu is better off without X so I guess you never know what some may think.
