bleedhoosier Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Told the "in-laws" (Illinois grads/fans, but not crazy basketball followers like myself) it would be us and Maryland battling for the B1G this year. I feel like an idiot. EXACTLY how I thought this was going down as well ALASKA HOOSIER, MartintheMopMan, Hovadipo and 1 other 4 Quote
Walking Boot of Doom Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Where was the outrage when the schedule was released back when many thought this was a Final Four team? Or at the beginning of the schedule when tons of discussion happened over this Big Ten schedule and how easy it was? Or was that a pre-reflection of the season? Maybe, my snarky reply was right on point. I can't see anything indicating people cared where or when we played Purdue this season at any point, including when we had higher expectations. Feel free to find the old Big Ten schedule release thread and prove me wrong. But, you may not have been around during those optimistic times so you might not remember. Edit: Here's one of the full schedule threads, so you don't have to search.https://btownbanners.com/topic/8175-season-prediction-full-schedule [emoji109] Quote

Hovadipo Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Can't it be? Still can, and I have hope. We just didn't start out so hot so it doesn't look feasible to outsiders (or many insiders). HoosierHoops1 1 Quote

Your optimism reminds me of this Christmas story. The only thing little Hova wanted for Christmas was a pony. Every letter he wrote to S. Claus and every Santa he saw that's the only thing he wanted. Come Christmas morning all he found was a pile of horse manure under his Christmas tree which he immediately began to dig into flinging pieces left and right. When asked what he was doing, little Hova replied, "With all this horse sh**t, there must be a pony underneath somewhere." GloryDays, Hovadipo, IUsafety and 4 others 7 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 Interesting article in the Indpls Star written by Tim Sullivan of the Louisville Courier-Journal about Al Hmiel a former assistant coach at the U of Cincy back in the 1970's, and what role he played in recruiting for Cincy. Lot of the people he references are now deceased and the simple passage of time makes it nearly impossible to verify what he alleges, but it is quite an entertaining article nonetheless. http://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/2015/12/25/confessions-college-hoops-slimeball/77911644/ hoosierpap 1 Quote

We got good scoring ability some good defensive and offensive fundamentals and mental toughness and this team could be good. On one hand it is nice to know that on the other it is aggravating HoosierHoops1 1 Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Good article USPS. Thanks for sharing. Interesting 2 Crean heavy recruiting prospects in list of 5 "foul shooters". Tum Tum at 40% and Ray Spalding at 42%. Kelvin Sampson having success at Houston. Indiana not being mentioned in any sub title. Kind of fitting. Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote
