IU Hoosier41

Former Hoosiers Weigh In on IU's Issues

Recommended Posts

This whole program decline/disrespect started with the so-called "the movement." This was a problem they brought in and CTC has let them run rampant instead of taking care of things at the first sign of a problem. Hate to see a good man lose his job over other's actions, but he failed to get their attention and he has to be accountable for that.

Well, I know that "The Movement" was told by some of the upperclassmen on the team when they first came to campus that very first summer that they didn't need to worry about things like cheating and drinking and smoking pot because Crean would yell at them and make them run, but that would be it and it really wasn't a big deal.  Looks like they took that advice and ran with it.

Those would have to be the same upperclassmen who are now stating how poorly this group is representing the school/team now.

And, yes, there is indeed a familiar name on that Twitter feed.  Missing a big one whose name rhymes with "Shill Weehey" though.

EDITED TO ADD: But I will say that this is a much bigger thing -- when that stuff was happening with some former players, it was whispered about and talked about in-house and on-campus a bit, but no one was screaming about it on talk radio or Twitter.  The players then weren't getting caught publicly...and then still doing the same stuff all over again.  So, if you were looking at things from the outside, it still looked like a team of guys doing it "The Right Way."  In that way, they weren't really bringing shame to the program.  Now, I'm one who believes that wrong is still wrong even if you don't get caught, but I think that's the type of distinction some of those former players would make.

That's sort of how you play the "I'm still a kid but with major responsibilities" game, just like everyone does.
