Devin Davis injured/Emmitt Holt cited for DUI

Recommended Posts

Not sure if the probation would still effect Yogi as he is 21 now, but Robinson would be given jail time if I recall the terms of his probation correctly...

When you are on probation you must stay away from drugs and alcohol even if it's legal. If not you are violating your probation.

Thank god. Hopefully Devin is still doing better. Not sure why this report is any different than what we had already heard.

The info is pretty much the same, but it puts to bed rumors of other bball players being in the car. Also the crazy hit-and-run rumors should be put to bed, as well.

Also noted that they didn't run an BAC tests at the scene... doesn't say anything about whether they ran tests at the hospital.

I'm not sure if this qualifies as a freak accident, since Devin apparently put himself (for whatever reason) directly in harm's way.

Either way, I agree with others who have said that this incident would be treated a lot differently if it were isolated and the events from last year didn't happen. Too bad that isn't the case. Lots of bad decision-making happening on this roster. Not to say that other teams' players aren't making bad decisions, as well. It just seems like the IU guys are awful at not getting caught.

The most important thing remains the recovery of Devin Davis. At this point, his reasoning for running in front of moving car are less pressing (though I understand the need for answers, since it's such a strange situation). Just keep hoping for good news.

RE: Dakich today... I'm trying to look at his recent comments without the spin of what Chronic Hoosier said last night. Seems to me that Dakich is hyping his show up today not because he has new info, but because he is going to have some harsh words for Crean/the program/etc.

"Get ready for the truth" sounds like "I'm going to say what a lot of people are thinking" or "I'm not holding back on Crean." Something like that. Maybe that's just my read.

That's how I read it as well. He's just trying to grab listeners. If he had info, he'd get it out ASAP so he could be the one to break it AND so he could get listeners. I do think there may be more info coming out soon, but Dakich isn't the one with it.

Doesn't seem like anything more will come of this except Devin getting charged. As far as suspensions go, I'm not sure how Crean handles this one. You don't need to tune in to Dakich to hear anything new. Indy Star and Rick Bozich said everything already. If I wanted to hear a bitter man talk about how much he dislikes Crean for 2 hours I would just read the "Who should replace Crean" thread from last year. If Crean was the problem, then I guess his raising of the GPA and zero arrests until Hanner were a fluke. These players are entitled and I place 100% blame on them. At the end of the day, these are adults who are choosing to make poor decisions. Had Crean had any problems before "The Movement" got here, I would be all on board with blaming him. But we can clearly see it all changed when certain guys got on campus.

Keep us out-of-towners posted!

This is brutal lol. So far it has been "Indiana fans don't stand for Indiana basketball. Indiana basketball stands for nothing." He also keeps saying he doesn't want the IU job or anything to do with it. He's pretty spot on so far. Ripping Crean by praising Knight's toughness on his players as well. Not sure why he started the show by saying how he and Knight don't get along.
