So a number of people are reporting Hibbert and West are both expected to opt in for their finals year. Not too surprised. No one is going to offer West anywhere near 12.6 next year and with the cap set to explode next off-season it would make more sense for Hibbert to test the market then when GM's have way too much money to spend

Also in kind of an ugly position in the draft. Too low to get a big guy we'd probably want, WCS or Porzingis. Would probably be too much of a stretch to take Portis, Looney, or Lyles. I hope we take Dunn, but not getting my hopes too high. And the two guys I want to stay way away from, Kaminsky and Turner, are being mocked in this range

I've seen a few mocks that had Looney to Miami. I just don't see him as a top 10 pick.

I just ran a mock lottery on ESPN that has us 2nd taking Mudiay. Let's do that scenario. (I'd take Russell there but I'm not going to be greedy) 4/5 times running it has us either 11 or 12 taking Turner. I like Turner, but I wouldn't be opposed to seeing if we could trade out if we stay in that 10-14 purgatory range.

Update: I'm now at 9/10 at either 11 or 12 taking Turner.

Update 2: Now at 18/20 with the other being #3 taking Jahsus.

I don't understand why Turner is so high with ESPN and Draftexpress (who I usually trust way more than anyone else with this stuff). He just doesn't seem smooth on the court. Doesn't have much of an offensive game. He'd be an upgrade athletically....... but just about.anyone drafted would be an upgrade athletically in the front court.

I'd take Russel 2 as well. But I would also seriously consider him at 1 if we were there. Even with KAT

Pacers end of year presser today. Interesting comments, Bird and Vogel looking to run more up tempo, small ball going forward. Hibbert at best would have a diminished role, may not even start

Bird is a genius. I bet our style of play doesn't change at all, but he won't let Roy know that. They want to move on from Roy, but who is going to step away from the amount of money he can opt in to? Bird is forcing Roy's hand and making him opt out. Looks like a game of chicken if you ask me, who's going to make the first move?

I thought Larry really threw Hibbert under the bus with this comment:  "Lance (Stephenson) ain't stealing his rebounds, I'll tell you that,'' Bird said, eliciting laughter from the media. “That's all I heard last year.''  Kravitz suggested the Pacers might even help pay Hibert's moving expenses if he would opt out of his final year.
