OK--I may eat these words but I am going to go out on a limb and say it....I believe Holt is going to be a star. He is my favorite new recruit behind JBJ and RJ who are also going to be stars. That's why I was so anxious above about making sure he actually made it to campus. You can tell Coach Crean and Coach Martin love this guy and they both know a lot of something about scouting and spotting talent.  People--we just stole a great recruit right out from under the noses of the East coast schools---heck Syracuse had a whole thread for several pages devoted to this kid and they all loved him too. We get so caught up on our 2015 recruiting and who we missed on but we just got a major jumpstart to it a year early with Holt. I predict he will be a beast by next year. I've got the guts to claim it--he will be a star!! Mark it down and put it in the archives and we will see how this one turns out in two years.

True. But you have to really take with a grain of salt what fans say on a forum about a player. I'm sure a lot of people in the DC area would have said the same things about Oladipo. Not saying Holt will be half of what Vic was, but most of what I read about players I mostly disregard until I see them in college. It goes both ways. Hanner was called an athletic freak and had some of the highest praise from people in Northern Indiana. That certainly hasn't panned out on the court as of yet.

I read it differently.  It seemed that they really liked him, their only concern was his height.  I think that 7'3" wingspan went undetected by them.

Nah...should only please you. Devin is a known commodity (to a certain extent) and basketball4iu has been quite optimistic about Hanner's improvement. He has also said that MSB and Jeremiah are not ready to contribute.

 

If Emmitt is somewhere near the effectiveness of Hanner and Devin, he will be a very welcome addition.

He said that Holt is legit and will keep them on their toes, I don't think he's saying Holt will start over HMP. BBall4IU has said that HMP has improved greatly.

I've been looking forward (no pun intended) to a good add to the frontcourt and I'm optimistic that Holt can help. I like to temper my expectations somewhat for most Freshman unless you have a Cheaney, Zeller, Isaiah or Fab Five, etc., type Freshmen, however, I am hopeful and I'm looking forward to seeing the team play this season, including E. Holt.
