schoosier Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 It's been mentioned on the board before, the oversign always will work out because it has to. You can't have more than 13 scholarship players, so there is no option but for it to work out. Just because it works out though doesn't mean it works out for the good of the program. I think it's BGleas that has brought that up a couple times.I thought it was 12 scholarship with one oversign to get to 12? Quote
BGleas Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 It's 13. But Crean could sign 13 players this fall if he wanted too, as long as he could demonstrate a plan to the Big Ten as to why he'll need that many. I thought it was 12 scholarship with one oversign to get to 12? WayneFleekHoosier, Kepner, 323SGrant and 1 other 4 Quote
TheWatShot Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 I have yet to hear a valid reason for why Crean NEEDS so many players every year, when other coaches in this league are more successful without having to push the envelope like he does. Bowhunter 1 Quote
Walking Boot of Doom Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 I have yet to hear a valid reason for why Crean NEEDS so many players every year, when other coaches in this league are more successful without having to push the envelope like he does. The B1G average transfer rate lies just under 2 players per year. So each year, typically 1-3 players will transfer and will need to be replace. Couple that with the fact that we've had 3 players leave for the NBA early the past two years and 3 who have the chance to make the jump at the end of this year, and you get oversigns. It's preparation for what only those inside the program will unfold at the end of the season. Kepner, Lt. John McClaine and Parakeet Jones 3 Quote
Popular Post CampHoosier Posted October 24, 2014 Popular Post Posted October 24, 2014 I'm confused. People were JUST arguing that Crean had no plan going in to this season with the transfers and were quick to jump on him for signing Priller and April. Now we are asking why Crean has to oversign? Seriously? Which way do you want it: no oversigns and complain about the lack of star power in late signees or oversign and complain we oversign? This is a perfect example of hate him if he does, hate him if he doesn't barrettballer, Lt. John McClaine, yogisballin and 6 others 9 Quote

HoosierHoops1 Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Generally speaking yes, but there are some posters who appear to be "Damn Crean" and it doesn't matter a whole lot what he does. Kepner and Creanfan 2 Quote

Lt. John McClaine Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 This is pretty much my feeling on the current state of the IU fanbase. We're slowly turning into Alabama Football fans and it just sickens me. I get being passionate about your team, but I hate the "Angry Fanbase" or this sense of entitlement so many IU fans have. It seems that some just can't manage to go one day without bashing Coach Crean. Creanfan, pumpfake, Naturalhoosier and 3 others 6 Quote
MikeRoberts Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Look at all these posts complaining about something that isn't even there. When the Crean critics are quiet, rest assured, the Crean pumpers will be out in full force inciting and egging on the Crean critics. Let the good times be good and stop making anticipating negative posts about people. Today is an exciting day Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote

HoosierHoops1 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 On the 12th it was posted that OG said he would sign on the 17th and Jawan said he would sign on the 19th. Here it is the 17th and OG has the signing scheduled for 3pm. I see no reason to believe that JM won't follow suit in 2 days. scots07, ccgeneral, WayneFleekHoosier and 2 others 5 Quote
