Brass Cannon Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Thank god the Cardinals are winning. The pirates are freaking pathetic and the just letting the Brewers do whatever they want to them. Quote

Brass Cannon Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Cardinals are going to blow the division. What joke. I’m so sick of watching them be poorly managed. Quote

Like baseball is such strenuous activity that the starters couldn't play today....when they have a DAY OFF TOMORROW!!! I understand giving yadi a rest but everybody?? Blowing it yesterday ultimately hurt today....and today was on the bullpen not the AAA offense, but still. It will be a one game lead going to the last series with the Brewers smelling blood. And the cubs with nothing at all to play for besides preventing us from the division title. We're going to play our way right in to a one game matchup with Scherzer on the road. Good night. Quote

Popular Post LamarCheeks Posted September 27, 2019 Popular Post Posted September 27, 2019 As a Cubs fan for 45-plus years, it's kind of a sad day. And a nostalgic one. After 72 years of broadcasting Cubs games, WGN airs its very last one tonight. Like with just about every other MLB team, it's all about money for the Cubs -- they're forming their own "network" and are leaving WGN behind. Although the number of WGN games had dwindled over the past few years, they still were able to air a handful each season. But after tonight, that's it. I grew up in NW Indiana -- about a half-hour from Chicago -- and cannot tell you how many times I came home from school and flipped on Channel 9 to catch the last couple innings of the Cubs game, back when Wrigley had no lights and every home game was an afternoon tilt. Or how many games I've watched on that station in general. Jack Brickhouse, Vince Lloyd, Lou Boudreau, Jimmy West, Milo Hamilton, Dewayne Staats, Thom Brennaman, Josh Lewin, Len Kasper, Chip Caray and of course, his grandfather -- the late, great Harry Caray. I heard 'em all call games. ... Kinda sad to see it end. ... So long, WGN -- thanks for the memories. HinnyHoosier, Class of '66 Old Fart, wirenuts and 5 others 8 Quote
Brass Cannon Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 And the cardinals are choking again. It must be a day that ends in Y Quote
Naturalhoosier Posted September 28, 2019 Author Posted September 28, 2019 All that matters is that the Astros clinched the AL. Everything else is minutiae. Quote
RatpigHoosier Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 All that matters is that the Astros clinched the AL. Everything else is minutiae. Meh...the real race is alive and kicking. Just need the Mets to hold onto their 1-game lead on the cubs and I will be at least placated until next year....when we take it all, baby!Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
Brass Cannon Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Looks like Cards and Cubs fans were both right. Cubs choked away the postseason the Cardinals will be choking away the division. Ive never seen a manager that looks more befuddled. Complete idiot throwing this season down the tubes. Quote

Not that it'll make you feel any better, but unlikely either the Cards or Brewers win a series anyway. The NL Central teams are very flawed compared to the Dodgers & Braves. Quote
