Im so tired of all this negative talk

Recommended Posts

Ok im so freakin sick of hearing and reading all of this negative talk about my beloved hoosiers men's basketball team. Does anyone know the true meaning of being a fan? A fsn stands by their team win lose or draw no matter what the circumstances now anyone wanna discuss this with a fan that is farely new to liking any kind of badketball at all. I became a hoosier fan because of the respect I was given at hoosier hysteria as being a disabled person the fan base was so polite and curtious towards me. Now im not sure I want to be associated with some of these people im hearing such negative thoughts from but regardless my allegiance lies with hoosier basketball no matter what!!

I do promise I expected worse.  I am thankful you weren't on these forums in 2000-2010.  It was not pretty.  IU has a unique history few can match.  Out of those that can match, we are probably in the worst situation going forward.  I think that is where a lot of the frustration comes from.

I agree. My allegiance is and always has been with Indiana University, my beloved alma mater. Tom Crean? Not so much. They are not the same thing.

Yeah, I have been a hardcore IU fan long before Tom Crean got his first assistant job.  My allegiance isn't to him if I feel he hit his ceiling.  That said, I am giving him another year.  I understand why some don't want to.  But, for stability I don't want change.  We are one year removed from a winning the outright and being a 1 seed.  IMO, one more year.  If more of the same (this) happens again, he should be gone.  We will see.

We're IU.  We're knowledgeable fans.  We expect greatness.  We aren't going to blindly applaud poor product that we know could be...should be better than we witnessed this past season.  Being critical doesn't make us less of a fan, we all want to win, but it's hard to be totally positive and rah rah when the team sorely underachieved.  Not blaming the kids though, they try hard, I just don't think they're getting good direction, but that's in another thread.

There are some people in the world that have to do excessive venting of their frustrations in order to move past disappointment and frustration. Everybody has to have their place. They'll be bitching by August because IU BKB is too far away.

Lol, I learned the 5 stages of grief from these boards.

I was planning on starting that tomorrow

Considering the direction the program appeared to be heading, the recruiting momentum, and the talent we had on this team I think disappointment is more than understandable.  I am generally a 'glass is half full' kinda guy and I'm still on the Crean bandwagon but I'm a lot closer to getting off than I was in October.
