JaybobHoosier Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Do you think Mallory is gone soon, or will they take their sweet time? Well, heck, will he get fired at all? Quote
indianato Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Gone and very soon. Hopefully.Sent from my LG-E980 using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
johnsoniu Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Lynch was fired at a 5 p.m. press conference the day after the bucket game in 2010. Every SECOND that Mallory would remain employed past that timeline, my faith in CKW begins to erode. And I am one of CKWs staunchest supporters. Quote
mamasa Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 I honestly don't know. I cannot figure out how CKW thinks or reasons. I also am not sure of the level of Glass's involvement. I posted quite a bit during CKW's first season if my dislike for him (CKW, not Glass) but I believe in giving him the time needed for a turnaround. If it's not accomplished, I'm happy to see him go. That's why I wonder if they'll simply keep Mallory on, seeing that a new head coach would most likely bring in his own staff (in 2 years). Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
JSHoosier Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Mallory hasn't been fired yet? It's starting to seem like Wilson is too offensive oriented, IMO. If Mallory isn't fired, Wilson should be for industrial grade stupid. TrueHoosier62 1 Quote
EvilleAngler Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 They're going to fire CKW and give the job to Mallory..... :cheese: mamasa and Will_Logan 2 Quote
KingPG21 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 If Mallory is back next season then both him and Wilson will be gone by the end of next year. I have no faith in us being a bowl team with Mallory leading our defense. I mean something has to change it can not be acceptable for the defense to be this bad on a weekly basis. We made Danny Etlng look like an All-B1G quarterback yesterday, and this wasn't just in garbage time, he looked good in the first half as well. Quote
OliviaPope40 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 I hope he is gone soon actually he should have been gone a long time ago and I don't know why we kept him around for this long. Quote
johnsoniu Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Florida just fired their OC, Brent Pease ( yeah, the same Brent Pease that had a cup of coffee here). Heads are starting to roll....CKW and FG, you are officially on the clock. Quote
Parakeet Jones Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 First of all, I believe Mallory SHOULD be fired. Our defense started the year terrible and got worse as the year went on. There is no excuse to bring him back. However, I have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach that he's coming back. Every second that ticks off of the clock without an announcement or even a rumor from a credible source, makes me more and more certain that is what is going to happen. upperarlington Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 They did mention they would be on the recruiting trail first. Then he and Fred will sit down and go over the season. We're probably looking at a couple of weeks on that Mallory decision. Quote
JSHoosier Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 They did mention they would be on the recruiting trail first. Then he and Fred will sit down and go over the season. We're probably looking at a couple of weeks on that Mallory decision. I'd fire him first. I can't see any good defensive player wanting to play for Mallory. I can just imagine the pitch "come to IU. You'll play right away for an inept DC and your side of the ball will get it's brains beat in week after week". upperarlington 1 Quote
KingPG21 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Obviously not directly related, but USC has already made the decision to hire Steve Sarkisian as their new head coach, though with Ed Oregeron quitting/leaving the program. It is a bit disappointing to see a program who actually did have a good season be able to make a decision this quickly. USC does have more of a name to put on your resume though Quote
Dalton26 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Like it's been said sark was a good hire but not the best. I don't think Washington is too upset. In other news is Mallory gone yet? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
Will_Logan Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 They did mention they would be on the recruiting trail first. Then he and Fred will sit down and go over the season. We're probably looking at a couple of weeks on that Mallory decision. That's what I'm really confused about. Wilson is presumably going after mainly defensive players (other than offensive lineman), but how can really convince these guys to come if they don't know who they are going to be playing for? Is he telling recruits Mallory is coming back? Is he saying they don't know if he is coming back? Hopefully, they are saying "we are going to get a great new defensive coordinator that you'll love to play for"...but even then, what is Mallory himself saying to guys on these recruiting trips??!?! TrueHoosier62 Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 As bad as our defense played this year, they could tell recruits they're planning on digging up the rotted corpse of Woody Hayes, and most kids would consider that an upgrade over Mallory. Hell, we might even land an extra good linebacker from the state of Ohio! Quote

JSHoosier Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 If he is out recruiting then I do believe that it looks like Wilson will be keeping him. That should be considered a fireable offense. We could easily explain that to a HC candidate, they understand if they know how awful Mallory is. Quote
