That stinks. I couldn’t tell from TV if people were booing or it was more of one of those things where the crowd collectively groans over a bad play. Sad to hear it is the former. It’s actually hard to imagine.

It was very mild and happened once.  Of course it’s not ideal, but it’s not a big deal.

The crowd yesterday was overall quite solid as usual.

Yes. As admirable a job as Wilson did stepping up yesterday, he also came very close to throwing a pick that would've basically sealed the game.

Much talk about Hoover "trying too hard" to avoid INTs possibly contributing to his issues... I don't think that's accurate. I think avoiding TOs is a big part of his job. He doesn't have to be Mendoza, and he has to play better than he has been, but he is also likely much more injured than publicly known. Hence why he sat in the second half. Because he was too hurt to play, not because Cig thinks Wilson gives us the best chance the rest of the season IMO. Assuming Hoover's health improves over the bye week, I will be surprised if Wilson plays over him. Cig does not strike me as one for QB controversy.

It would be nice to support a struggling player rather than make him everyone's favorite whipping boy and showering him in boos at home. But we get one undefeated natty and Heisman season and suddenly fans know more than the staff that actually delivered those achievements. Totally hilarious.

I get that he almost threw a pick.  But he was infinitely better than Hoover and we wouldn’t have been in that position of being down had Wilson started the game.  Had we got his level of QB play from the get go Minny scores fewer and we score more. We probably win by 2 TDs in regulation if Wilson starts.

Wilson isn’t a perfect option.  But he can hit an open guy and he can run pretty well. Hoover misses the open guy and trips over his own feet.  We might throw more picks with Wilson but if we can hit the open guys again the running game is going to come back and the QB won’t be the one we are leaning on consistently.

No, I was at the game and it happened more than once. I would agree on mild, as it was a vocal minority. There were also a few coaching decisions that got some loud boos, although again, a vocal minority.

If you see something Cig doesn't I'm not sure what the best way is for you to get that message to him.

Booing is how fanbases tell a team how they feel I’m sorry these guys are getting paid millions.  They can get over it.

Cig played Hoover too long.  I don’t know if he’s ever missed on a QB eval before but he held on too long to the idea that Hoover was his starter.  The fanbase told him through booing.

I think benching your QB is an admission you made a mistake if you want to try an appeal to authority I’m pretty sure Cig caught up with the rest of us and concluded Wilson was the better option

Wilson played because Hoover is hurt and that's about it. His post game comments allude to that. We will see who starts against USC. I trust Coach Cignetti.

So was I, though I was in the end zone which is rare for me.  I wrote most of it off as usual groans when stuff goes wrong.  Maybe it was more than I thought I’m not doubting you.

I guess I’m just not ready to rake our fans over the coals right now.  They’re not perfect but they’re not a material issue in my view.

The first time I have not gone to the homecoming game we've always gone.

It was a terrible time for people with families. Not sure if that’s your situation.

the 330 slot should have been filled with west coast teams

Disagree.  We have to build a culture that survives Cig. Building a culture where the coach can not be questioned and can do no wrong is how you get IU basketball.

UConn basketball won championships before Dan Hurley and none of their fans question him half as much as ours question Cig online. Booing any of his decisions is frankly absurd, coming from where IUFB comes from compared to where Cig has taken us. Fans just love to play AD.

If he calls timeout and they don’t kick it, it’s a risk they’ll score. He figured at 4th and 10+ it’s more likely they not kick.

I don’t follow this logic. Minny had their own time outs and could have called time out to go for it.  The only thing I can think of is that he thought Minny would punt and play for OT which Cig was happy to do.

Cig has forgotten more about football than I’ll ever know, so far be it from me to second guess. But I wonder if he would do things differently if he could do it over.

As it is it led to one of the most improbable endings in football history. I saw a tweet that said in D1 and NFL, no game had ever had two 60yd FGs made in the last 30 sec. Crazy.

I understand the boos. Most serious programs would have heard the same.
Special teams couldn’t have been worse, as if they were throwing the game.
Hoover was playing like a bottom-tier QB in conference as he had been for the last month.
Since Rutgers, the drive charts had been putrid.

Trusting somebody is different than thinking they are infallible.

The were booing for a change at QB.  A change at QB allowed us to win the game.  That’s a W in the fans column I would say.

I'm sure the fans played an instrumental role in Cig's decision-making process.

I definitely think Cig would do things differently. He bases his decisions on what he expects teams to do. So sometimes he’s wrong. I infinitely prefer Cigs methods over whatever system Lanning uses. Or these guys who always do what the analytics say.
