Biggest surprise of the night?

With only two O lineman out, one of the starters was true freshman Sam Simpson, three star 900+ ranked no name O guard from the state of Wisconsin.

Khobie and Turbo were excellent. Shifty and with burst.

With Gandy and Harris out, Bell played with the 1’s over Williams. Bell had two big penalties.

Tyler Morris didn’t start in the slot (Bond did) but Tyler looked like an ultra-confident veteran.

Finally… Tobi is FAST.

Started as a true freshman on a Curt Cignetti team? Extremely notable.

Impressive offer list for Simpson, the #2 prospect from Wisconsin.  He currently plays OT, but is projected to slide in at the next level.  All and all, a great start to the class.

Methinks Sam Simpson is a dude.

Barker is going to play a lot

Baldwin is going to play a lot

Chandler ran the wrong route on the 2nd play, might have had a big gainer had he broke a tackle..

Our DL vs OL w/o Smith+Lynch isn't fair lol...

Sharpe played in the boundary (Harris was out) but that was interesting.

Jaylen Bell looks like he belongs

Brunner played RT-- looks like he needs to be at guard later.

Ajani :{

Landino vs Simpson didn't go well for the rookie (in pass pro)

Martin didn't look good in pass pro

Burrus +++

Cross dogs blitz-- Savage looked very Fisher like

Garrett Reese+ Jamar Owens +

FG kickers +++

Thought we'd put a separate thread in play for tonight's spring game.

Key 'first look' points of interest for me?

  1. Tyler Cherry as the QB2
  2. With Becker out (hamstring) who is the WR5 that bumps into a rotation role - Chandler, Bond, or Kendrick.
  3. Third LB
  4. Fourth DT behind Tyrique, Mario, and Hjelle.
  5. With two starting OL out (Smith and Lynch) who are the backups who start.

Great to see this train back in motion and ready to run over any and all.

I don't remember seeing Sanks. I think Wilson is QB2 this year.

That was the wrong emoji. ******* that was suppose to be a smiley face and literally will not let me type it lol.. idk.

I thought he looked very good, and will be our LT next season/I think he's our guy at RT this year.

I have suspected we upgraded the roster.  I’m willing to say it now.

We upgraded a 16-0 roster.  And we play probably our two toughest games at home instead of the road.  I’m so excited for next season

I tend to agree, the roster is more talented across the board. One of the attributes from last year that was so remarkable was the consistency. Talent doesn't always = consistency, so will that talent make it a better team? TBD, but if so, could be scary good.

Looked about how I suspected. Defense way ahead of offense and when you add in all of the injuries on the offensive side it makes sense. TE is really the only position that has me worried. Hoover made some bad decisions imo but I remember how Rourke and Mendoza looked in spring as well so not too concerned. D-line certainly appears to be a real strength of this team. Tyler Morris was better than I expected coming off the injury. Overall it was good to see them play.
