He officially narrowed things down to Arizona, Illinois and Indiana this week but it looks like this is a battle between home state Arizona and Indiana. Our sources tell us that the decision could be coming as soon as this coming week and that while Tommy Lloyd and the Wildcats are still considered to be the team to beat, Darian DeVries and the Hoosier have made this thing a legitimate race. Actually feel pretty hopeful about this, though the home state school is really, really good. The assumption has to be that Sherrell will head to the league next year. IU undoubtedly has more money than Arizona and the B1G is the highest profile conference in the country. Even money I’d bet Zona but this wouldn’t be a shocker at all. This is encouraging. The only new thing is the kid saying he doesn’t feel rushed and will pull the trigger when he feels ready. Can’t argue with that. Doesn’t feel like the kind of kid who’ll wait out more offers. Says he’s done with that part. Home Jersey 1 Quote

Hoosierfanyuh Posted October 5 Posted October 5 The more I read about this recruitment this feels like a true 50/50. Not a “home town is going to win regardless but I’ll put another school for anticipation” Pagoda 1 Quote

Hoosierfanyuh Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Lots of info coming out right now. Apparently trilly said iu MAY be the team to beat now. Then Rabby a few minutes later posted he got a text from two meaningful people that IU has a real shot. hoosierfan6157, WayneFleekHoosier and Home Jersey 3 Quote

Home Jersey Posted October 5 Posted October 5 This would be VERY splashy! According to 247, Wabbington is the #2 C in the class of 2027 and Branham is the #5 combo guard in the nation. Two top 25 players. Stacking talent, if it happens. Exciting update. hoosierfan6157 and Demo 2 Quote

You know what closed it? Being a million degrees in Bloomington the weekend of his visit. While everyone else in town was spontaneously combusting the kid was out on the field with his sister throwing a football around and completely comfortable and DDV took one look at that and said, “ Darius, no kidding, this is our weather year round. You don’t even need to buy a jacket. Seriously Champagne is in a freaking blizzard alley. You don’t want any of that.” Home Jersey, RoderickJaynes, 8bucks and 4 others 7 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted October 5 Posted October 5 This sounds like fun. Hope it’s the case. Would appear to be a Sherrill replacement, but I selfishly want Sherrill back. Branham/Wabbington are a great duo to build off of. Talented players Hoosierfanyuh 1 Quote
Home Jersey Posted October 5 Posted October 5 For the most part I don't watch highlights for recruits until they commit anymore, but I just let myself watch Wabbington's junior year hudl tape and I'm feeling more excited about IUBB than I have since 2016. This kid just moves like a pro. IMO if next year we've got Burton and Lindsay back + Prince and Branham with Mustaf, Karvala, and Manhurtz on the wings, and Wabbington + Yig or a solid big man back up transfer is a potentially very high ceiling team. kottke, Crimson and Cream, RoderickJaynes and 2 others 5 Quote
Ricochet Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Getting Wabby would be huge to go with Branham but I hope I wrong but I just don't see it the German player/prospect. Would love to see IU get a true PG stud and in this modern NIL transfer portal era and the money that IU possesses you've got to figure 1 splash pickup from the portal. Quote

BuyGame Tickets It would make 3. Not sure Sokolov is more than a 1 year rental. It would seem we are counting on losing Sherrill. And maybe Yigi too but I’m not sure where he’s going. Keeping the vast majority of this roster together will be a best pathway to good results. Teams are getting older and better. We need to do the same thing. Stuhoo 1 Quote

I think what we are going to see moving is a team that's 3/5 long term players, 1/5 one and done type special talents out of HS the end up top NBA picks and the other 1/5 from being opportunistic in the portal. This will be fluid though because if there is an exodus they will need to hit the portal in those years. Quote

I'm the same way, I just watched some of his highlights today. Very skilled player. Guys his size that can handle the ball, shoot, and pass like him typically translate faster to the college game. He's not an explosive athlete but he knows how to play and where to be. He and Branham would be a great smaller class to bring in. Home Jersey 1 Quote
