Ya we can probably write off Texas Tech… They don’t look like they have it tonight. They will be lucky to not lose by 20 when’s its all said and done

13-0 run to cut the lead to 3 with under 2 to play!

Right, my brain just doesn't work that way and I've always felt those ratings can be deceiving. 81 points per game makes my skin crawl lol. Obviously, slow the game down, slow the scoring opportunities down. But Alabama will never slow down.

Kind of like when a running team gets down in football and it’s hard to come back. When Alabama is rolling it’s impossible to stay with them and it forces their opponents out of their game trying to keep up. I agree with you that on a possession by possession basis their D isn’t great.

I still have trouble grasping that defensive rating when I see it. I feel like every time I've watched Alabama play they were never impressing anyone with their defense/points allowed.

They were ranked lower just a month or so ago when I looked. So I didn’t pick them to win it all. But their def efficiency has climbed a lot since the last time I looked. So they have stepped up in that last of their game.

The confident and easy FT shooting demonstrated last night, on the most basic level, we need players that can at least take advantage of the easiest points in basketball.  Guards like Leal, Galloway, Enright are not the move towards winning at the top level.  This should be clearly obvious yet we’ve not fixed our problems on the most basic, predictable, projectable stat in basketball.

Also 3 point shooting is reasonably projectable.  For the love of all things, do the simple things.

The end of the Duke game was illustrative of that. Arizona wasn’t intentionally fouling but they were going so aggressive that they fouled about every possession to end the game. Didn’t matter to Duke because they hit about 9/10 FT’s at the end and Arizona never got close despite hitting a couple 3’s.
