Buzz has this down to a science.  Weird dude but a good coach.   He has an obsession with getting fired so he basically gets out before that happens.   Every move he gets to reset expectations and has a grace period with the new fans although with NIL now the ability to flip and raise expectations in year 1 might mess with his timeframes now.    Needs to coach a Big 12 team to complete the set

Buzz is right at the national avg on D1 coaching tenure (5.4 years) and twice the average of SEC coaches (2.5).  Surprising as my perception was he jumps around a lot too.

Not a bad hire. In fact, I think he's better than Willard. If I'm Maryland I'm happy. I thought he was a decent fit at Texas A&M. He's the kind of coach that maybe once in his career will make a Final Four.

Maryland moving so quickly to bring Buzz in definitely shows their admin was prepared. Didn't their AD leave in the middle of this too? Pretty impressive by them IMO.

3 kids from last year’s Montverde roster 1 and done lottery picks. It’s not like ya didn’t know it but that is so nuts. Rob Wright had a really good year at Baylor and is the 4th best freshman from that team. Smh

It was the rumored move I heard as soon as the Willard might leave news came out.  Definitely a strong move all things considered.

Can't remember which game it was, I think one of Duke's, but they had a segment showing that MVA team photo with Newell, Queen, Flagg, McNeeley, and Wright all highlighted... I felt sorta bad for Curtis Givens who was also a top 100 guy, not getting any mention at all when he was a big part of that team too... gotta be a burger boy to get the national love I guess lol

Givens had a normal freshman year and looks like a straight wash out in comparison.

With a league-average bench, where do you stop, from the bottom up, thinking "they could win that conference" on the Torvik conference rankings? They get pretty far into the teens I'd imagine right?

As much as it pi$$es off mid-major conference guys, I think you’re at the Southland before you even start thinking about the possibility that they couldn’t, and that’s just because of McNeese.
