Dare - ee -- in (the "I" in Darian is pronounced)

or 

Dare-in (like the traditional Darren)

So Devries has had success with guards, wasn't there rumor that Nijel Pack would like to come back to Indiana (state of)?  Maybe put some feelers out to him if he still has eligibility.  We need a PG too.  He'll have to see if he feels he can work with Rice and Carlyle.  Could he bring back Goode, Rice, Carlyle, add Tucker Devries and Nijel Pack along with Sisley and then hit the portal for some more bigs?

I know some people want to blow everything up but I think there are maybe some pieces on the team to work with.  Rice and Carlyle were pretty good defenders and they weren't awful offensively at their last stops, maybe a new coach helps them.  Goode has been an Indiana kid since he was a child, I think that connection helped out.  There are some other dudes on the team that we could maybe work with too.  I think the goal in year one would be to reach or eclipse the 22 win plateau and make the tournament.  You can build from there.

I hope not. I want more of his WVU players and recruits than I want to see our current players and commits.

Just my opinion, but ready to move past the Stevens talk. Let’s talk about our new coach! I’m excited and ready to watch some good basketball again. Really curious to see how he does at IU with top level talent (if he gets them). Seems like he recruits well, so ready to give him time and watch how things shake out.

Doesn’t take anything away from what he did at Drake. And the one year turnaround at WVU bodes well for our chances here with more resources. This guy chose Bloomington over another viable P5 program. He was Scott’s guy for the past month at least. WVU being egregiously snubbed just makes the timing more advantageous for the portal. But I've seen quite a few people mention metrics as a negative for DeVries. I don't see it that way. He put up both top 40 offenses and defenses at Drake, albeit in different seasons. That's not easy at the mid major level, since strength of schedule factors in to those numbers quite a bit.

Add in the fact he had a top 15 defense his first season at WVU, and I think that bodes quite well. He certainly has the ability to build a team here that top 15 both offensively and defensively, which would be a top 5-10, national title contending team.

I agree! Think people will feel a lot better after we get to hear him / see him for the first time.

I forgot the Euro we had committed too.  I think having some continuity with a fresh coaching perspective wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.  I don't think you want to bring in a ton of Freshmen and have to rely on them.  Frankly I take Rice over the guard he has committed.  I know what I can get with Rice and he has 2 years of Power 5 basketball under his belt.  He was a decent Freshman, I would like to see what he could do with a coach who has both feet in the job again.

For instance, I post a lot, but during the entire coaching season, there was one poster who I thought had credible inside info that I stuck my neck out for… @westgym.

There are others that have access; many of them are wonderful posters and really good people, but when a mod endorses inside information, that is a rare and pretty ******* notable occasion.
