I agree with him. At the minimum, it makes no sense why they aren’t at 16 teams instead of 15. Would take the same # of days. Quote

They're representing a University and if we're going to be "that school" who won't hire Chris Beard because of an allegation and charges which were dropped, we can't then be a place that openly allows classless and frankly trash behavior by however many thousands of people did it. Please drop the GC thing. That guy is long gone. I don't know who it was completely or wasn't, but it makes us all look bad and shouldn't be tolerated. Especially if we're steering clear of coaching candidates for things that either didn't happen but were alleged, or for things that happened a while ago and would now be perfectly fine. Either we're playing the card that we're above it and better than that or we're like everyone else or worse, Purdue. Quote

Completely agree with you about the students last night. Someone (Woody if he had any pull remaining) should have gotten on the PA and put a stop to it. But FWIW, we’re not hiring Chris Beard because he’s an alcoholic. All of the other bad stuff about him emanates from that. If the domestic violence thing was a one-off charge that had been dropped he’d probably be our coach this time. But that’s most definitely not the all of it, and Beard is most definitely not a recovered alcoholic. FightFor6, Muskie plays the four and HoosierHoopster 2 1 Quote

People who are never held accountable and risk nothing behave like that. So...uuuuhhh....yeah. It is that big of a deal. It looks like **** on a University in which I have a lot of pride and I don't want idiots staining it. Quote

But I hang out a ton with college kids; I've got three of them currently, and their friends are at our place often. They are absolutely great young people, but hit them with a little peer pressure? They'll chant inappropriate things in unison on national tv. Give them some guidance or a bit of embarrassment? They'll snap right back into 'good kid' mode and cut it out immediately. And they'll remember for the next time. @Old Friend is right; it's not okay. But these kids are no different than my peers at IU in the 1980's; it's just that no one put them back in line this time. str8baller and Old Friend 2 Quote

Because nobody had the balls to correct their behavior this time, it's no big deal? Herd mentality is a problem. It's not okay and I don't care if "lots of them were doing it." Lots of good kids do lots of stupid sh*t. Doesn't make any of it okay. Stuhoo and LockdownD 2 Quote

I just don't care what a bunch of 18-22 year olds, who probably aren't sober, are chanting at a basketball game. I have no reason to waste energy on caring. It was hilarious.
