Notre Dame game has  to be up there.   The missed FT score and Gus losing his mind was awesome.

Gus had a comment near the end that ruined that one because it aged so horribly: "My intuition's telling me, there's gonna be better days ahead for IU!"

Two nights later, IPFW gave us a swirly.

I watched this for the first time recently. Alford was incredible and kept us in the game the first half...dude needed no space to get his shot off.

This was my favorite game as well. The pre-game narrative was all about how whether IU could slow down the Runnin’ Rebels. Instead of playing a slow paced game, Knight had us play at their pace and we beat them at their own game.

I have the entire 87 run transferred from VHS to DVD and used to watch them before the season started.  Haven’t done it the last couple years.   Might be time to bust them out and rewatch.    Should of lost to LSU in the Elite 8 however good teams always find ways to win

Oh man. I'll be 50 in July. Can't pull a favorite. Felling was the best man in my late ex in-laws wedding. Saw so many games from the tunnel/behind the bench. If I'm being honest? 1987. I put my hand into the ceiling fan when Smart hit the game winner. Off the couch I jumped. Dad wasn't even mad.

The '76 championship game was special but even when Wilkerson went down early in the game, never really thought we'd lose.  But that '87 game was truly special.  And when you watch the very end after the shot went in, Syracuse was like we were against MD.  They didn't know what to do.

During the pandemic and losing my job I watched a lot of old games on YouTube. I love the 87 run and really loved the 2nd round game vs Auburn. We got down by 14 early but blew them away while scoring 107 points. If you want to see a game where we got every call it was this one.

And Boheim didn't call a timeout either but for some reason they finally stopped the clock with a second to go.

This one's special to me because of how the game flowed.  MD jumped out to a quick lead and it looked like we were really outclassed.  Knight maintained a calm demeanor and just waited for the first media timeout.  After that timeout it was all IU and at one point Lefty got bleeped yelling at his players during a timeout.   Over 40 years ago but that's how I remember this game.  The final score was 99-64.

One of the best games I have seen an IU team play.

Who knew you could score 99 points without a 3 pointer or shot clock

This game was so much fun. I thought we were never going to miss a 3

That was a fun one, and I was there. Never seemed to be in doubt then Cove got hurt and Donald Perry came in and did Donald Perry things…lol.

If I remember correctly, they cut away from the game toward the end because IU was killing Maryland. That Maryland team had some great players. By the end of the year, no one was going to beat that IU team. I loved the 75/76 teams, but I think the 81 team is the best I have ever seen. IT at the point was special.

LOVE this thread idea. Here's my (A Youngbuck's) personal favorite. This was my first ever game in Assembly Hall, as a senior in high school, sitting in the 3rd row across from the OSU bench. You can see how I got addicted.

This was THE best live game that I had been to at AH.  When you leave the arena on a game like that, the emotion that you feel in the air is overwhelming.

I was on spring break in Orlando at the Peabody Hotel.  My dad and I went down to the lobby to watch because my mom and sister wouldn't be able to handle the yelling.  It was my dad and I with another couple of IU fans that started watching.  Mid-way through the second half there were about 50 people yelling in the lobby.  There's nothing like out of state IU camaraderie!

1989 Hoosiers! There was a stretch of 3 consecutive Sunday home games on ABC with Keith Jackson and Dick Vitale on the call.  Purdue, Michigan, and Illinois. Jay Edwards game winners vs. Purdue and Michigan and the baseline jumper to tie it vs. Illinois regardless that it was a loss. That team winning the Big Ten that year was maybe Knight's best coaching job.

It’s not a game, but does anyone have an HD clip of the Marco dunk?  All the clips out there are grainy.  It was the wildest crowd I’ve ever experienced in sports by a big margin.
