Class of '66 Old Fart

IUBB @ Iowa - Saturday, 01.11.25 @ 8:00 ET on Fox-TV

Recommended Posts

This strikes me as a really hard game to predict.

Iowa is lights out from the arc, one of the best 3-point shooting teams and highest scoring teams in the country, they’re coming off a strong win after clawing back on the shoulders of their offense and it’s a home game, where they usually beat us, and at 2-2 in the B1G they need this game.

To our surprising credit we rank 49th in 3-point D (we’re a lot better now than we were in perimeter D), we’re very strong on the glass (where Iowa sucks), with Malik out the offense is more balanced with Goode now hitting with better spacing and movement and Ballo dominating inside and the attention D’s have to give to Bako and Rice, and we’re running with confidence after winning  at PSU.

I mean the line’s been between 4.5-6.5 because Iowa sucks at D and rebounding and we’re playing better, we’ve actually looked more like a bball team with Malik out. I like Malik and he’s one of our best players but we’re badly crowded and one dimensional with Woodson’s 2-big units.

Wr could get blown out like at Nebraska, who Iowa beat, but we could also win this game. I’ll probably just flip a coin lol

The league should have fined him that game. He literally lost it.

Ref should have T'd him up.  The whole 'I didn't say anything!' is like a five year old getting as close to you as they can and saying 'I'm not touching you'.  His intent was to show up the ref and/or intimidate him.  That should be a T every time.

Wonder what the injury is.  Really didn't look that bad when it occurred.  Must have had significant swelling.

His loss may be a blessing in disguise with getting to play a smaller lineup. With that said, we will need Malik back and hope for him to get healthy, but should back up Ballo and become a more willing passer.

I expect to lose this game. Win it, and we might be turning the corner.

I think we will win.  I think the season plays out this way.  Does our opponent have solid post players that can neutralize Ballo?  If not, we're going to win most of those games.  If our opponents can contain Ballo, we will lose a lot of those games.  It's a guard's game, but Ballo is our wild card.

Help an old man out...how do I listen to this game in my truck dinner? driving home from a business dinner?

At least two choices: IU Basketball - 1010 WCS     It says on mobile, too.

And Indiana basketball radio station 2024-25: Channels, live streams, schedule to listen to Hoosiers audio broadcasts | Sporting News    This includes Sirius xm...

Can't find it on Spotify...but really didn't drill into it.

Good luck.  Except in the Prediction Thread.

Huge one for momentum tonight. Win this one, and we look like a legit threat with the reworked lineup.

If we see a repeat of Nebraska, our recent success just looks like the product of a soft early conference schedule.
