A mobile qb would be fantastic….and I think that’s what Cig is looking for. In all of Rourke’s positive attributes, his one negative was glaring - no mobility. Maybe it would have been just as bad but he is scrambling ability would have been helpful. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app RoadRage 1 Quote
Alford Bailey Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 Amazing. Two losses at ND and at OSU. Just a great season. Home Jersey, lillurk, go iu bb and 1 other 4 Quote
cbp4iu Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 Will probably take a step back next year I’m guessing 8-5, 9-4, 10-3 is still a huge success!!!! Need to keep winning and that will help with the future. I love where this program is headed. I don’t see why IU can’t after next year be a consistent 8-10 game winner. Made it quite clear that ND had bigger and faster recruits. Coach is being real with himself and that’s great to hear. We need to step up in getting a few players that can match up. I think he knew going in and thus the conservative game plan, trying to avoid a complete blowout by 40 some points. Thinking a little longer term. RoadRage 1 Quote
Banksyrules Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 Weirdly I found the troll who came to attack us in the game thread as an encouraging sign. College football is an elitist club and if with proper investment we’re going to crash the party. We have the coach who wants to do it badly. lillurk 1 Quote
lillurk Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 All I ever really dared dream for IU football was that we’d be something like Iowa or Wisconsin: pretty consistently 7+ wins, occasionally 10 and/or a Rose Bowl appearance. Well, this year exceeded the ceiling of that and while time will tell, I think Cig has put the floor even higher than those programs already, in one year. This season goes up near the very top of my favorite seasons of being a fan in any sport — alongside the ‘03 and ‘15 Cubs, slightly above ‘11-‘12 iubb…maybe only surpassed by the ‘16 Cubs. I think we have every reason to think IU can someday return to the CFP. But even if they don’t, hats off to the ‘24 Hoosiers. ALASKA HOOSIER, southsidehoosier, go iu bb and 1 other 3 1 Quote
